      Question I Need Help T_T

I just had a really crazy dream, now I'm freaking out, and am starting over from the very beginning. Before I was really confused when I was told on the site about lucids and WILDs. I kept searching around trying to figure it out but didn't understand until I read other journals. I don't like to just ask for help I just try to figure it out on my own, and then I thought I knew what lucids were until reading from other journals and tutorials. Then got confused about the abbreviations, and now here I am going to ask a lot of questions.

Lucids = You wake up in a dream and realize its a dream, right?
WILDs = You go through SP and then wake up in a dream that looks extremely real, and realize its a dream and start exploring??
DILDs= Please give me some kind of example T.T.
SP = I can't control it!!!! I really need help. I tried so many times wanting to just /sleep/ without waking up. Instead all I get is this electric feeling in my body and my hands are the first to numb up, and wake up with really crazy dreams that look so real, and get fooled. Last night, I had a really weird dream where I did the RC right when I woke up into it. I was breathing when my nose was plugged. So, I thought ok this is a dream. It isn't real. It turned out to be a dream about lucid dreaming and I don't remember much at all in it. All I do remember is that I kept going to places, I was able to change objects and then waking up in the couch again/do RC and turned out I'm still dreaming. It kept doing that three times. Also, around the afternoon I get so tired and feel like my body is doing sp while I'm awake. So I have to just open and close my hands. Jump around trying to keep myself awake.
WBTB = Welcome Back To Bed, but can I have an example??
What other abbreviations are there/how many types of lucid dreaming are there??
Is anyone else going through this?? What do you do?
How can I stop the SP from happening when I'm awake??

So so sooooo sorry to bug you guys and asking these questions, and I hope this thread is in the right spot to be asking them. I just don't want to get myself more confused and make things worse for myself. I really would like tips on what to do. I have read tutorials and tried so many things like before I go to bed I just think about everything so I won't think about them when I'm sleeping. I tried counting, tried *I'm dreaming*, etc.

Yes, a lucid dream is a dream where you are aware that it is a dream.

A WILD is when you keep your mind aware while your body goes to sleep and you enter the dreamscape.

A DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) is when you are in a dream that was once non-lucid, and you realize that it is a dream either by doing a reality check or by some other means.

As for SP, technically no one can control it. You go through sleep paralysis every night when you are in REM sleep. Normally you only realize that you're going through SP when you are tyring to WILD, or when you wake up and are still in SP. (You just need to have some patience, and you'll be able to go through it conciously.)

What you expirienced in your dream was a false awakening. It was good that you did a reality check when you woke up, because you never know if you could still be dreaming.

WBTB means Wake Back to Bed. You normally need to wake up for a half hour or so before you WILD.

Yes, there are many other abriviations. I'm pretty sure if you check the tutorial page it goes in to detail about them.

And I don't think you can go through SP while you're awake, The tingling sensation was probably just from sitting still for so long. It's not the same as SP.

I hope this helps; and welcome to Dreamviews!

Have you looked at this yet?

It's our official Acronym List. It has everything but WBTB, which is Wake-Back-To-Bed, not welcome, which can be used for any technique. Though is seems like it's mostly paired with WILD. All you have to do is wake up at a set time during the night, stay up for a while, and them go back to sleep to preform the Induction method of your choice. But you'll have to experiment with how long you should stay up. It's different for everyone.

The only way you could go through SP while awake was if you are Narcoleptic.

Hmm...what you described sounds like a False Awakening, or a dream of being awake. But you said you did a nose RC. Did you know you were dreaming? Did you feel Lucid? Because if you did, then you did indeed have a Lucid Dream. But it's still common to dream of being Lucid.

, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. You can never ask about things too much when it comes to Lucid Dreaming!!

Thank you guys, and yeah you're right Hazel. Its a tingling feeling and when I stay still it'll feel like its SP. Though, yesterday and the day before I was at my band camp marching and I'd feel a rush of being tired, and feeling like it was sp. It might of just been the fact that those last two days of me not really sleeping. Where I'll get into SP, and start talking in my head. I really couldn't stop talking in my head so I was conscious while going through SP.

Now that I think about my dream, I was aware of the whole time that it was a dream. I think it might of been DILD, because there were really weird parts in the dream that later made me think it was a dream. Like one part where there's this lady who comes up to me and says something like this at the beginning, "I am here to help you with your dreams, and I'm the cause of your dreams." I tell her you're just my imagination, and to leave me alone. She says please follow me, and I say ok why not. So I do follow her, and she takes out three bottles with labels that make no sense. She says that these will teach me. I look at her and tell her to back off. She eventually leaves me alone, and I'm able to do what I want. Like I remember going to this spot in the house, and imagining different styles of clothes to put on me. Just to play around, and then I imagine a cat, and a cat appears in my hands. I look in the window holding the cat and trying to imagine him being some other cat, and it changes. It was really cool, and then I set the cat down and think, "I wonder if I could change the whole room into another place." So, I imagine some place and the room changes. I really don't remember what the place looked like when I was changing the room. I was having fun, and then I wake up again in the couch, check to see if I'm awake by plugging my nose. It turns out its still a dream and I start to walk around again. I don't remember what happens here its just a blur. I end up again back at the couch though and do the RC. Still dreaming, and I do walk around and I just don't remember. I only remember the first part of the dream. When its done, everything fuzzes away and I feel my body is all numb. I said see it was all a dream in my head like I knew the whole time. Though, it just makes me question that the lady was holding three bottles with labels that make no sense, and have three RCs/three times where I'm in the couch. What are the odds in that??

When I'm in SP, and hear those sounds, would those images that I see of people/sometimes they're portals with places inside them/or just small snippets of places, is called hallucination right? I just want to get these terms down, so I'll know what "this" is when I sleep.

I knew it was "something" back to bed, but I forgot what the W represented. So, its wake back to bed... ok thank you.

Sounds like a Dream Guide to me. See if she appears in more of your dreams. You never know...

And yes, the things you see and hear are hallucinations.

      Glad I could help you.

You could also call the halucinations Hypnagogic Imagery (HI for short.)

That is pretty interesting. And Snowy Egypt is right, she sounds a lot like a dream guide.

If she was my dream guide wouldn't she say something like "Hi, I'm your dream guide, or guardian angel, or something??" Maybe I'll see her again and ask her. I just thought during the time she wanted to trick me or something. Because those bottles were stupid. The labels made no sense whatsoever. You know, how would three bottles teach me?? And, thanks again guys.
