      Advantage for me?

when I try to fall asleep, like really try and not think about anything, as long as its dark and quiet I can fall asleep in under 20 seconds. The past few days I've been trying WILD before I go to sleep, and 3 and 4 1/2 hours later by using alarms.
      I try
      "99 I am dreaming"
      98 I am dreaming...
then I focus on the shapes and stuff and fall asleep probably 3 seconds after I lose track of the count.
last night I got down to 86 before losing it

falling asleep this easy should be to my advantage in some way, right? how can I use it?

extra info: I'm 21, and my 16 year old sister says she lucid dreams all the time without even trying (I couldn't believe it either), but has difficulty controlling the dream (but I don't think shes tried any serious techniques with that). Genetics FTW?

btw I've only been trying for like 4 nights

I THINK WILDing is not the best for you. Try to DEILD http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ighlight=deild. could be better, cause its no matter how fast you fall asleep and to get into SP takes a little longer than you can stay awake/conscious, i THINK ^^

I think you're right about it being an advantage. Now you just need to find a visualization that works to keep you conscious. Counting alone does not hold my attention, and I'm guessing it doesn't work for you either. Try connecting something visual or tactile to the counting.

How long do you stay awake for during your Wake-Back-To-Beds? Have you tried eating something or taking a mild stimulant, like some green tea?

yeah, I think FLILD (familiar landscape) is the one that will work best for me, it seems really compatible with falling asleep easily. I'm gonna try that along with a couple others tonight, results posted tomorrow in this thread!

oh yeah, I can pretty much drink 2 energy drinks back to back and fall asleep fine. I don't think I've met anyone else with my sleep abilities.

I've always been pretty good at falling asleep also. I thought I was good, until I started taking galantamine/choline and B6. They keep me so wired, I've had to learn how to fall asleep again. It's strange to have to re-learn something that has always been natural.

I always have awesome results with Familiar Landscape. Good luck tonight, and let us know how it goes.

You should not try to WILD straight away as it is very hard to learn for most people, there are some members on this forum who cannot WILD even after many Lucid dreams

well I tried FLILD last night but to no avail. I know my house really well but I didn't even get out of the basement before I fell asleep... maybe I need to try thinking about it more actively tomorrow, forcing a few trips through my house before I even let my mind wander in any way.
In the middle of the night I decided to try DEILD instead of FLILD, didn't really work even though I do remember the end of a couple dreams. I think I was too aware of what I was trying to do, it'll probably be easier with practice. FLILD might work better in the middle of the night though, I think I'm going to use that method tomorrow (unless the end of a dream is especially vivid).

do those supplements seem to work for you? does anyone know whether supplements are legit? I just drank an XS, best energy drink ever, look it up, before bed, and it has 300% B6...

It is very difficult to WILD when you first lie down for sleep. Most people who have success with WILD do it in combination with some sort of WBTB. In the middle of the night, you are closer to a long REM cycle, so it is easier to enter a dream.

I'm not the biggest fan of supplements, but they do help. If you're interested, there is always tons of discussion in the Lucid Aids section of the forum. The easiest and most reliable combination I've found is galantamine/ choline. But everyone seems to have different results. Brain chemistry is a delicate thing, and varies a lot person to person.
