      New and A Few Questions

Im new here and I was wondering a few things. What is the difference between regular dreaming and lucid dreaming? Is there away to protect yourself from dream walkers? How can you become a dream walker yourself? Do babies and young children dream just as much as adults? I'll probably have more questions later lol.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

In a lucid dream, you are consciously aware that you are dreaming while you are in the dream. This leads to you being able to control and manipulate the dream to anyway you see fit with a little practice. What do you mean by a dream walker? Do you mean a dream character(one of the people in your dreams)? If so, you just have to remember that there is nothing that they can do to hurt you. You can't really become a dream character either. Children and babies dream just as much as adults, but children remember the dreams more, because they aren't as stressed as often as adults are.

When I say dream walkers I mean those that can invade other people's dreams and control things in people's dreams. Makes sense now about lucid dreaming because I have done that plenty of times before though I am a little out of practice.

I see. Take dream walkers related things to the beyond dreaming section:

Hello Celina, welcome to DV. To answer a few of your questions:

      1) A dream and lucid dream are different because in a lucid dream you are aware you are dreaming. In a normal dream, you are just going about as if you're on auto-pilot.

      2) Dream walkers are a disputed matter, so I would advise reading up on those threads in the link that was provided to you.

      3) It is unknown when exactly people begin to dream in their life, but it can be assumed that young children dream just as much as adults.

Anything else you might need to ask, just post here, read up the FAQ pages, or look at other posts that people have made. The answers are there, trust me.

      Celina! What a beautiful name.

I've heard that children dream more than adults. In general, people get less sleep as they age, and (as Pastulio mentioned) get poorer recall.

In my opinion, dreams are totally based on your beliefs and expectations. If you believe that your dream characters are aware, then they will be. If you expect that they are mindless drones, then they will be.

But everyone's beliefs are different. You can always try a shared dreaming experiment, where you try to enter someones dreams. I've known a lot of incredible dreamers who have tried, but sadly, no one who has ever succeeded.

Lucid dreaming means that you know that you are dreaming while in the dream.

Dream Walkers aren't scientifically proven or accepted. You'd have to ask a beyond dreaming person for that.

Babies and kids require more sleep that adults so they should dream more.
