One thing that I missed in Laberge's book, is the importance of doing a WILD after a Wake Back To Bed. Wake up for a few minutes in the middle of the night after 4-6 hours of sleep, and then return to bed to do your WILD. It is very difficult to WILD when you first go to sleep.

Also, your Wake Back To Bed can be anywhere from one minute to one hour, depending on how easily you fall back to sleep. If you are falling asleep during your WILD, try staying up for longer during your WBTB, and maybe eat a snack. If you are lying in bed awake for an hour or more, try only waking up for a few minutes.

Also, the timing of your WBTB is critical. Experiment by moving it around to different times during the night. The idea is to catch a REM cycle in the early morning.

Thanks for the info Robot. As I mentioned, I get up for a half hour or so every morning to shower, etc. That hasn't worked so I'm going to try to go to sleep an hour later than usual, and see what happens. If that doesn't work I'll keep trying! Yay, I'm pretty excited.
