      Question Question

Uh, I'm not sure if this is where I post this sort of question.

Sometimes when I sleep I get this strange feeling, its like an electric current up my spine or something. When it happens I cannot move what so ever, it's as if I'm paralysed or something.

Can anyone please help, and explain this?

That would be sleep paralysis. Your body does it every night to prevent you from acting out your dreams In real life.
      Nothing dangerous.

      Question Wierd.

I always wondered what it was called and why I got it. Yet there is something I forgot to mention though, it only occurs when I have this nightmare, something is trying to grab me, and when it does I get the wierd paralysis feeling. However I also feel like there is something there in my room with me. But when I look there is nothing. And I never heard any windows or doors shut or open.

I belive the feeling of someone else in the room is quite common. I've read about that somewhere on here.

I watched a tv show about that once - you fall asleep, dream a nightmare, your mind wakes up you from the nightmare, but your still paralysed so your not fully awake and might be hearing, seeing or feeling weird things. Some people see "aliens" trying to abduct them at these times

This Wikipedia page is good enough: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

They say "The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely fanciful, or dream-like, objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision."

So if objects may appear in the room, I can't see why people wouldn't.

Also, the picture on the right of the article is quite similar to what people feel: sometimes, they would have trouble breathing, as if some small demon was sitting on their chest. But it's all hallucinatory.

So yes, I guess what you have is only sleep paralysis.

This is very VERY common, it is a "symptom" of sleep paralysis. If you ever are scared and need to get out of it, try to open your eyes or wiggle your toes

I'd recommend not being scared, it happens every night and thinking scary thoughts may lead to scary things happening. Instead, realize that you can WILD more easily once you are already in SP and see it as a positive thing I look forward to SP!

I'm gonna move this to the noob section, since it's a noob question and not really related to attaining lucidity
