I found this site using Google to search for information on Lucid Dreaming, I have been trying to do this for awhile now. I have became lucid in my dreams a few times, most of which I became excited and have woken up. I was only lucid in one dream that I didn't wake up from so far. Or perhaps I just dreamed that I realized it was a dream? =P Anyway, in this dream I went through lots of doors, and scenes changed rapidly, like a blur. Like my mind was working so fast that I felt as if I couldn't stay in one area or I would awaken, but this caused me to wake up. So I have a few questions.

What steps do you take before you sleep to induce a calmer sleep?
What are some ways that I could train myself to realize dreams are dreams?
I have read a few, such as drawing an image or letter on my hand, or looking in a mirror. But I feel like to be able to control myself in a dream I would already have to be lucid.

I have been writing in a dream diary for a bit now, trying to make myself remember dreams more often, hoping that this would make it easier for me to dream more intensely.

How do I make myself able to dream consciously. D; It bugs me.

To get a good nights sleep with less feelings of being rushed or under pressure I suggest doing something calming before bed. Another thing you can do is do some autosuggestion -- say something like "I will relax in my dreams" over and over in your head. Try to imagine how that will feel.

To learn how to lucid dream I suggest you start here. This tutorial covers the basics of lucid dreaming. You also should read over the Reality Check (RC) tutorial here.

Dream control and control of yourself in LDs comes with time.

Good! That is the most important thing you can do to improve your dream recall.
      Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response the links you sent me were helpful, and the entire time before you had responded I was looking all the acronyms and different ways to initiate Lucid Dreams. I like the idea of circling differnt types of dream signs in different color, because most recently I had a dream that I feel would have been easy to make lucid, where one of my friends had turned into a giant yellow grub with black dots running down his back and razor sharp teeth protruding from the giant hole that was his mouth. Two large black orbs were his eyes, and sometime during the dream one of his eyes turned entirely white and the veins which would be inside of it crystallized. O.o

Anyway, I think writing down my dream signs in my dream diary will really help me out. ^__^ Thanks a bunch.

Talk about weird! That would be a HUGE sign that it was a dream!
