      New

Hi, I'm new to this site. I've researched lucid dreaming a bit on my own, through the website and various others. I've read Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Laberge.

I haven't really tried any techniques consistently. Though when I first started exploring the possibility of lucid dreaming, I had the idea of tattooing "Am I dreaming?" somewhere on my body that would come into my view often. My first idea was my forearm. I may go through with this, although I have not quite decided.

But I came with a question as well. In the last year there has been a few times where I have realized that I am in a dream. Despite my thoughts while I'm awake about using lucid dreaming to help me solve problems or to explore the world or to just "let it flow", my automatic reaction is to turn it sexual. And every time this happens, just as quickly as it happens (once I begin my sexual advances towards whichever woman is there) it begins to fade. I use the rubbing hands technique every time, but that does not seem to help.

      Any advice?

Try to stay as calm as you possibly can. Other techniques you could try is sitting on the ground and spinning yourself around, pushing your tongue to the roof of your mouth, or some other physical type thing. Maybe you could also try yelling "MORE CONTROL" or "DON'T FADE" something like that.

Maybe try doing something else, or at least something else first to stabilize like nitsuJ suggested?

http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=49240 here's the How to Avoid Sexual Distractions tutorial. Although it doesn't sound like you are being distracted. But maybe it can help.

to DV, Morpheus. Hopefully posting here will get you more consistent. You can always start up an online dream journal if you think it would be helpful.

Maybe you could incorporate your intention to do a simple, specific task, into your reality checks. That way, it will be on your mind, and you won't have to take time in the dream to think up something to do. It is so easy to get distracted or over excited.

To keep my dreams from fading, I always touch objects in my environment, and try to feel the ground beneath my feet. I don't know if it is the same for you, but when my dreams fade, it is because I start to become aware of my body back in bed. I have to distract myself from that awareness.

I have a livejournal account that I use purely as a dream journal. It allows me to automatically tag dreams.
