      Another Newb

Hello, I'm new, I've actually been interested in LD the past few days, I don't recall having any LDs throughout my life, but I do recall one time realizing that I was in a dream, when I was around 8 or 9, anyways, so to get this out of the way, I'm a bit Impatient, which causes me to think that I can LD at random when I sleep, even without my DJ, which I haven't actually started yet by the way. Anyways, I don't know why, but last night I felt the urge to try to WILD last night, before I went to bed, I don't know why, but I tried it. Well I used the method BillyBob was talking about, in the process I start getting this Absolutely aggravating itch of my cheek, and I'm concentrating real hard on not scratching, simply by visualizing the numbers I'm counting in my head. For some reason, Out of the Blue, My ears just completely shut off, it literally felt like someone had stuck something over them, it made a sound kind of like a low frequency pop and all sound was gone, now due to my newbiness, I hop 20ft out of my bed, slapping myself in the head, cause it scared the crap out of me. I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else, cause I haven't seen any threads about WILDs in which someones ears just shut off. Thanks for reading, I hope to post more as I actually start to LD.

Hey Xyster, welcome That dream where you realized you were in a dream was lucid, that is the only criteria for a lucid dream
During a WILD, you will experience some strange sensations like that. I have read a bit about how that is something some experience during sleep paralysis, nothing to be alarmed about Just get a bit more practice, and you won't even notice when it happens

Thanks, actually I've never actually felt SP, I plan to start a DJ tonight instead of hoping I can trick myself into having a LD, I actually have fairly decent dream recall, only problem is the dream has to be really stupid and make absolutely no sense before I remember it, or unless it's a nightmare, I remember them perfectly down to the last detail. Anyways, thanks for the welcome

No problem Yea, just keep working on your recall, and writing in the DJ. Eventually you can figure out your dream signs and start doing reality checks, and you will be well on your way to lucidity If you haven't seen them yet, there are some good tutorials in this area of the site http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=75

Lol, I actually have started a few reality checks since about 3 days ago, such as the plugging the nose (popular I noticed), 6 finger check, and finger through the palm. I kinda want to question anything out of the ordinary like some people do, but I really find that difficult to find some odd enough in reality to question. Thanks for the Help.
