      Problems with reaching SP

I've tried half-assedly to get lucid dreams around half a year ago, but this time is the first time I'm putting some serious effort into it.

Here's the problem. Now, my dream recall is still very bad, but I've been trying to do WILDS the last couple of nights anyway, but I haven't managed to reach SP. Not even close.
Every time I've tried I've been lying still for over an hour, but I never get that SIGNAL that I've read that you're supposed to get.

I tried this morning after waking up from a dream, the clock was around 9 in the morning. I lay still for what seemed like an eternity, I had managed to clear my mind, mostly, but absolutely nothing happened. I was sure that I had been lying there completely still for at least an hour, so I got up and looked at my watch, and it says 15:42.

      What am I doing wrong?

This thread is probably very messy, but I'm hungry and can't be bothered to make it neat.

I tried my first wild last week. I did feel numbness, and pins and needles, and tightness of breath. I think I came close but never "dropped" into a dream.
When I gave up much to my surprise i found out 5 hours had passed.

You're clearly getting into some kind of altered state.

The majority of the threads on this forum are dedicated so WILD and SP.
Track back and read as much as you can. Once you have a good idea of what to expect, you will be better able to understand it when its occuring.

Laberges book is sadly a bit light in describing the specifics of SP in my opinion.

This is one of the best threads I've found..http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=42271

      Good luck!

WILDs are generally notoriously hard for newbs and beginner LDers alike to achieve. Just wanna let you know, in case you don't meet with success in the near future
You do not always experience SP when you are wilding, especially if you are trying some sort of visualization technique. So the goal isn't to reach SP, the goal is to make it into a lucid dream I actually prefer to not go into SP, as it usually jolts me awake!
Which tutorials have you read? How many lucids have you had?

I've read a wide variety of random WILD tutorials. Most of them seem to focus on making your body falling asleep at first, lying still until your body sends your brain a signal which you're supposed to ignore, which in turn starts SP. This is what I've been trying to do.

I've had like 4 or 5 lucid dreams, +- a couple, but all of these were a long time ago. One of them was actually a WILD.

Oh, that makes it obvious to me what I've been doing wrong. I'll try it out in the morning. Thanks
