Well you had a dream, whether or not you remember it. |

Before i start having lucid dreams i know that writing down my dreams in a dream journal is a good thing to do. I also know that once i wake up writing the dreams down is the first thing i should do and that moving alot will make me forget more. |

Practice makes perfect. Are there any things you can think of that may affect your recall? Is your sleeping schedule out of wack? Are you not sleeping enough? Are you not sleeping well? |

Are you making sure to lay still when you wake up-- to think about what you dreamt about? I read in a book it's best to remain motionless until you "gather your head" |

My dream journal is on my book shelf right beside my bed but once i wake up and start thinking about them i come up with nothing |

Usually when I wake up I can only remember one single dream. But I always keep my dreams in the back of my mind because often I will come across a word or thought that triggers at least one other dream. This dream often triggers other dreams until I remember like five dreams in one day. Then I write them dow when I get the chance. |
|
To people who remember their dreams regularly: When you started out, did you just remember, say, a dream every few days? Did the amount of dreams you remembered increase? |
|
Maybe your alarm is not waking you close to a REM cycle. You may not be waking up right after a dream. |
|
I'd rather say it's not just a good thing, but absolutely necessary. |

Seeing a lot of posts on remembering one thing and then more to following, which is an excellent piece of advice. So many times I wake with only an emotion, and nothing to tie it to. Then as I lay there thinking, something else will strike open the dam holding back everything. The Chain of Memories - a very effective technique. |

i wrote down first 4 or 5 dreams that i had within a few days after starting the lucid dream proccess but after them i just stopped remembering them. do you think that me waking up early to go to school is a important factor as to why i cant remember anything. And also after i wake up (supposing that i do get a good amount of sleep) if i dont feel any emotions what can i do to help remember my dream, besides the whole not moving, closing my eyes and keeping my journal close by things. |

Don't focus too much on what you do in the morning. Focus more on what you do when you are going to sleep. Tell yourself beforehand you will remember your dreams. Tell yourself firmly several times, "I will wake up after every dream and write it down." Be real bossy with yourself. Convince yourself. Before bed, write the day's date in your journal, and maybe even write next to it, "I will remember all my dreams tonight." |
|
Tell yourself before you go to sleep that you will remember your dreams. Also try waking up 5-6 hours after you go to sleep so that the dreams will still be fresh in your head. |

Robot is right, say to yourself out loud "I will Remember my dreams" |

I am having a similar problem. I wake up in the morning, and maybe remember one detail, but thats it. Other than that though I remember at least one dream a night. Another problem for me is waking up at six, and writing in my journal in the dark. Its nothing but scribbles and off the lines, and I dont want to turn the lights on to do that, because I dont want to forget anything. |
|
So I woke up early this morning, and no light came through my window. I also had repeated to myself that I would remember my dreams, and I also fell asleep with classical music playing. Whatever the reason, I had quite a long dream, and remembered most of it! My alarm woke me up, and ended my dream though, which probably explains why I remember it all mixed up. Anyway, I'm just glad I remembered! |
