Hey all,
Just found this community after I began researching this phenomena that occured to me at odd times of the night. I know that I was lucid dreaming but I just always thought they were more vivid dreams that I could recall.
Anyways, after reading up on the subject I would like to experiment with certain aspects of ld and was hoping someone could share some insight on one or any of the following practices.
1. I have been able to recall what appear to be full pages of text from conscious interactions. This is particularly exciting because I would like to be able to review what I read earlier in the day. No, I don't want to attempt to 'study' while asleep and I know this may sound rather strange, but I was once able to read whole pages of religious text that I wouldn't otherwise be able to recite back consciously. My only point of contention is I couldn't recall those exact pages of text, I only felt that I was reading it and so I don't know if that's what actually happened. Anyone been able to do this?
2. I have listened to whole songs and their lyrics during L.D. sleeping and it appears almost as if I'm listening to the song live or like I have headphones on or something. Again, I am unable to recall the song details, and I don't even know if they were real songs I was listening to or just random bits and pieces from different songs.
3. In addition to behavioral-cognitive methods and anti depressants I was wondering if I could overcome my mild depression through LD. Any scientific basis? A psychoanalyst would claim that the source of abnormal psychology is the source of a troubled un/subconscious - so would it be possible?
4. Something i have tried to do and failed was to recall certain historic events through ld. I have never been successful with this and was wondering if there is a relationship between self hypnosis and LD and if there is how one can strengthen that connection. I have tried nmeonic devices - like thinking of certain objects, artificats, symbols from the past and hammering those ideas into my head before sleep, but it's never led to a LD.
