      How about my signs?

      Greetin´s

I´we quite recently written a post about the repetition routines before entering sleep. That topic was about how to make oneself to do realitychecks. I´we realized that it´s a good idea to repeat things like "I will pinch my nose to check if I´m dreaming" etc. Now, It´s probably written somewhere in DV, and it´s a bit related to my previous question, but I´m asking you people anyway; What is the best way learning to recognize one´s personal dream signs? I´ve collected quite a few of them since I started dream journalizing a year and a half ago, and some of the signs are frequently reoccuring, like me hanging out with rare old friends and such. The problem is that I´we never even been close to realizing that I´m in one of those sign-situations, even though it´s happened a couple of times a month.

Would it work doing the same type of spoken repetitions as is the case with the realitychecks? If that´s the case, it would seem like it´s only possible to enter a LD either by dreamsigns OR realitychecks. It thereby shouldn´t be that much of a success to "split" the practicing, meaning doing repetitions for dream signs one day and repetiions for RC´s the other day. Seems like one should focus on either of them. Is this make any type of sense or am I completely out biking in the blue?

Hmm well, you should be doing reality checks whenever you experience a dream sign. That way, even if you are not suspecting it's a dream just yet, you will do a RC and surprise yourself. If the sign is people/things you don't experience often in waking life, I'd recommend trying to use pictures, or writing the name down on little slips of paper and leaving them around. You should be doing a RC whenever the concept of your dream sign enters your mind, not just when you physically or dreamily see it. So for example, you likely just received an email saying I responded to this post, and your brain probably went Oh, what post->oh, that post on my dream signs->oh, my dream signs *reality check*

I see, thats really helpful information, thanks! The dream sign-rememberance using notes and such seems like a relly good idea. It was exactly that kind of method I was looking for, combining Rc´s and DS´s, narrowing my approach to enter a LD...
