      I just woke up

Hi. John11 here. I've had many lucid dreams throughout my life, but only recently did I think about trying to have them more often and improving their quality. Lucid dreams were just something that happened to me, but I decided I wanted to learn more. The one main problem is that in all of my lucid dreams, I wake up almost instantly once I try to control it, or I almost instantly lose control and I'm taken back into the dream.

Anyway, my first lucid dreams where when I was very young. I would have nightmares and realize it was a dream. I had these a lot and I became quite good at waking myself up from the dreams at will. Eventually I decided to fight the nightmares since I knew they were only dreams. This was very successful and I rarely had nightmares after that. Other lucid dreams I've had relate to flying or sex mostly.

Other non-lucid dreams I have are very vivid and detailed even if sometimes they are sporadic and disconnected. In college, I had one dream that I felt was so detailed that I had to get up and write it down. This casued a false awakening where I woke up and told my roommates my entire dream followed by one of them spilling beer on my laptop and then I woke up again. Then I actually told my roommates of my entire dream plus the false awakening and I wrote it up on my laptop.

So, here I am. I just woke up and jotted down what I could remember of the dream I just had and now I'm going to try WBTB and see if I can get a LD out of it.

I plan on staying commited to this and I hope to see results eventually.

      Nice to meet you all.

It is always nice to have another natural lucid dreamer. I too have had LDs since I was a kid. For the longest time I thought everyone knew when they were dreaming. Since getting more interested in it I've discovered that the possibilities with lucid dreaming is almost limitless!

A lot of people struggle with their dream ending when they try to control the dream at first. I suggest before you do anything fancy take a few moments to look around and just notice how clear and vivid the dream is. I call this "stabilizing." After this the dream should be much more stable when you pull out your tricks!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
