      Dreamless sleep

Well i've bin reading on some forums about 'dreamless' sleep and how it happend to them once and how funny it is. What I exactly mean by dreamless sleep is falling asleep and waking like no time has passed by. Well welcome to my world , I have this ALL the time and it is not very funny.

That was when I didn't know anything about lding and all , now sometimes i remember 20sec of a dream or a weird glimpse or 'sense' that I had a dream difficult to explain.

So anyone got any advice ? I already keep a dreamjournal

Man this has been happening to me A LOT lately. During the summers since I'd come home late I'd already be tired and fall asleep as soon as I'd hit the sheets and it'd be easier for me to have a Lucid Dream. I'm guessing THINK more of what your intentions are in your dream and only that.

Happens to me all the time. My dream recall still sucks, let alone trying to have a lucid!

Keep going. You are doing the right thing! Over time, your recall will improve. It's not that you aren't putting in enough effort (it sounds like you are, if you keep a dream journal!), it's just that you need to give your brain time to learn this new memory skill.

Within a few weeks (given a relatively constant sleep schedule), your recall should climb.

I've only had that happen once in my life, I was camping and we smoked an enormous amount of weed in a very sealed and small tent. I passed out and next thing I knew it was 12 hours later and I really thought only a second had passed when I woke up.

Is it because I sleep to long? Or to deep ? Could one of these be the problem?

Sounds like waking up during deep sleep. I did that on purpose using a light cue that was set to go off during deep sleep and it felt like I just closed my eyes and opened them but an hour had passed when I checked the timer. What could have happened to you is this....Stage1, Stage2, Stage3 or Stage4 (You wake up), (go back to sleep) Stage2, REM (you don't remember).

      Thx for the replys ,

So what exactly do you suggest me to do imj?

Its frustrating to me , although I know one of the worst things I could do is get frustrated with it. Last night I had a 5-10sec memory and quickly typed it in my cellphone because me pen didn't work anymore ( for my dj ).

I've never really had any dreams few years back ( still in school ), i always felt 'bad' when I had to go to bed because It was eyes close - eyes open and time for school.

I have written lots in my dj , 95% are really short. But I dont write in it all the time (always when I remember a dream when I wake up ) but when I dont remember anything I dont and then a its a dryspell for few days or weeks.

Maybe I should try WBTB? I could be overly tired and sleeping to deep ( what I deff do ).

      Or something else? Suggestions anyone?

Have you tried vit B complex pills? They may iron out your unusual awakening and give you a better nights sleep with dreams. Just remember not to take them just before bed and follow the directed dose on the bottle.

      Thx for the reply ,

I haven't tried vitamin B , can you buy them at a medical store?

Quick question , what would be the ideal time to wake up the first time?

Hey. If possible, you should try to stay up all night and crash in the daytime or whatever time is irregular for you. I've found, and other people seem to have found the same thing, that when you go to sleep at a time like this, it does something to the body/brains' sleep patterns(rem related?) and i've had numerous ld's in this way. imj mentioned waking up and then going back to sleep, this seems to work too. For dream recall in general, ditto to the advice already given and I would add that, as stupid as it sounds, positive reinforcement, like 'I will remember tonights dreams', is a good habit to get into. This, along with a journal and time, it will happen. As a footnote, someone was mentioning smoking pot and having no recall - smoking weed is the worst thing you can do if you are after dream recall. Good luck eh, cheers.Ev.
