      I have a question

Since I'm a teenager, and I don't exactly have a consistent sleeping pattern (5 or 6 hours on weekdays and 12 or 13 hours on the weekend), is this going to be a problem for lucid dreaming?

You might have less opportunity, but you can still do it. See http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=67809 for my reply to an almost identical question I gave earlier this eveninig. Your weekends should be a fabulous opportunity.

Your weekends will be great for Lucid Dreaming.

It's because of the REM rebound effect, basically your body gets into only having 5-6 hours to sleep(on the weekdays) and when you sleep for the extra 6-7hours on the weekends it is mostly taken up by REM sleep because your body has already done all it needs in the first 5-6 hours, hence more dreams on weekends.

Overall this will probably be more of a positive side-effect of your inconsistent sleeping patterns when it comes to LDing.

Yes and no, 8 hours is best of dreaming, but sometimes throwing your cycle off can give you huge REM cycles and cause insane dreams.
