Smile Hey! new here, had some questions

Hi everyone =D just found out about the whole lucid dreaming thing 3-4 days ago, its on of the coolest things ive ever heard of!

im really excited to start trying everything, so far ive been keeping a DJ and this past night i tried the "fast grab" in the attaining lucidity forum, it sounded a little too good to work(lucidity in 15 seconds), i was trying the fast grab for an hour an a half until i gave up- what was i doing wrong?

      I got relaxed and tired.
      I imagined a beach image.
      I imagined it getting brighter.
Then i reached my hand out(real and mind)and grabbed an umbrella pole, and felt the cool metal in the hot sun, felt the sand under my feet.

But my biggest problem was the the image was too small, it was just little, and i couldnt get it to "surround" me.

i stayed like the just walking around and grabbing stuff for about 10 minutes until i realised that i couldnt fall asleep because my arms were out in front of me, so i tried just "imagining" that my arms were grabbing things.

Anyways, i kept "forgetting" to feel things. I never actually entered a dream.

      any tips???

i had a DILD once a LOONG time ago. ive had alot of WILDs, atleast 5.(theyre alot easier for me) but all before i found out about lucid dreaming.

my dreams are ALL 3rd person, like a movie,(and i cant feel anything tactile) all for a couple- and all of the dreams i was ever lucid in are in 1st person, so i think if learn to dream in 1st person, il get way more lucids.

I have also named my subconscious and done autosuggestion every night.

      Thanks everyone who responds =D
I look forward to improving my recall and gaining lucidity!

      thanks

      Hi ryu
Yeah, take a nap in the day, and when you wake up, you will feel kinda groggy and
Sleepy, I just go back to sleep, then I'm lucid

Hopefully somone explains a solution to our problem PSPsoldier.
      Thanks for the welcome

I've never tried Malac's fast grab technique. It sounds more like a technique for overcoming the last hurdle when WILDing, and actually entering the dream. If I were to try it, I would do traditional relaxation and WILD type meditations first, then just use the fast grab to solidify myself in the dream.

But, like I said, I've never tried it. Have you tried asking in either Malac's or Wendylove's threads? It sounds like it works for them pretty consistently.

Have you had 5 WILDs in the past 3-4 days since finding out about lucid dreaming? Or did you have them in the past, and just now realize what they were? I would say, build upon what you know works for you.

      thanks for reply robot
Yeah, I've had about 5 wilds that I can remember -ever-
I'm naive I kinda expected after laying in bed for a while I could use malacs fg to just be in a dream.

Il try some relaxing and meditation.

      Thanks

I have similar problems. I tried grabbing, but I keep forgetting to immediately feel and keep the landscape in my head. I can make it surround me and make it vivid, but the fun stops there.
      dilds: 19
      wilds: 0 / filds: 0 / hilds: 0 (and never will) / FA: 0
      deilds: 2 / mfgs: 0 / vilds: 0 / FA-Nonlucid: 2

Hey we are kinda the same! My dreams always seem to be in third person too. Actually they seem to switch back and forth from first to third.

When I do the fast grab technique its hard because I visualize my self in the scene. (Third Person)

      Whats our problem? haha
