      WILD question (I think)

Hello everyone. I've got a few experiences to share, and a couple of questions to ask.

First of all, this is my first time actually posting here. I discovered this site through another one via my Stumbleupon toolbar (the best extension I have for firefox). I have been interested in lucid dreaming since I heard of them from a friend a few years ago.

My first experience with them was a DILD; I was in my backyard on a little playset I used to have when I was a kid with a few friends, and I spontaneously realized I was dreaming. I looked at my hands, and they looked perfectly normal, so I decided as a reality check I would try to shoot blue fire from my hands. I threw my hands out in front of me, but nothing happened. My friends told me I wasn't dreaming and to stop acting stupid, and I lost lucidity.

My second and last experience with LDing was earlier today. I have a few days off, so I decided after reading dream journals all day that I would take a long nap and attempt to WILD. I'm not sure if it was actually a WILD or not, because it may have just been a DILD with a false awakening.

Anyway, I was lying in my bed, then suddenly I thought I was dreaming. I tried to move, but I couldn't, so I automatically assumed sleep paralysis. I tried to move my arms, but they started tingling violently, like when they've fallen asleep or gone numb and they're beginning to get feeling. I also had a similar intense feeling in the back of my neck. I eventually was able to get up and stumble around my room. I got to my door and tried to open it/go through it, but I was interrupted by my cat jumping on my bed, and really woke up this time.

My question is has anyone had similar experiences with the tingling I was talking about? Is this related to sleep paralysis, or was it just an unrelated dream I was having?

Whew, I didn't mean to be so long-winded for my first post.

I haven't gotten the tingling sensation you mentioned, but the rest is exactly like most of the WILD's I've had.

I don't normal get the tingling, but also most of my WILDs sounds like what you discribed, so I would have to say it was indeed a WILD.

Congrads on the WILD some poeple here find it really hard to do this

      Also to DVs

Well it's good to know that I'm on the right track.

I tried to do it again last night, and I got to the phase where the tingling sensation began, only this time it was over my whole body and it was accompanied by ringing in my ears. The sound distracted me and I opened my eyes. I was pretty upset, considering it was getting light outside and I couldn't get back to sleep to try again.

Also, thanks to everyone for the welcomes.
