Welcome, I had exactly the same thing as a kid
When something attacked me, I often became lucid. Didn't know what it was called though.

The first LD I had involved gorillas chasing me - I didn't know what to do, so I just curled up and let them kill me. Not the most pleasant introduction
I've learned a lot since then. haha

Try not to get frustrated if you find that you struggle to induce them - it took me more effort than I expected. You'd think that a natural LDer would find inducing LDs to be easy, but .. bleh.
That said, you have an advantage with your LD experiences so far

After you took control, what did you end up doing? Anything fun? Were you able to stay in the dream for long?

This happens to quite a few people. Glad to here that you are using that seemingly unpleasent thing as a gateway to lucidity.

If you continue to pursue it diligently, I'm confident that you won't be disapointed when you have some good LDs. They are incredible...

      Good luck, and good dreaming!

      See you around the forums.
