      hmm...

so its been about 2 and a half months of constantly writing down my dreams, and i still haven't been able to become lucid...i do reality checks every now and then, but not every hour or anything like that. I've also tried taking vitamin b-6 before i went to bed, and it seemed to make my dreams so much more vivd, but the next few nights i tried it, nothing really seemed to be different from normal, so i'm really kinda frustrated, needless to say...is it just something that will come with time, and if so, is this normal to be not lucid for this long?

Some people take longer than others. While uncommon to go two months without an LD, it's not unheard of. And those people, (looks like you are among them,) just have a harder hump to cross over, it doesn't mean anything about thier LDing potential. In fact, when you do get over it, (I'm confident that you will,) it will just give you something to relate to other people that are having the same problems. Then you can help them out!

Plus, dwelling on your lack of success, whilst natural and totally understandable, isn't helping your confidence and sub-sequentally not helping your LD potential.

As far as the reality checks go, I'd remind you that RCs are pointless if you just do them every once and awhile just to do them. Doing one every hour would also be pointless.

An RC should never be done just because you haven't done one in awhile. The idea of developing a habit that will translate into your dreams is unrealistic. They need to be done only when BUT always when you see something odd or questionable at the enviroment. And you can't do them just to go throught he motions! That idea is compliment of the late Billybob.

EDIT: I realize there are dream guides including Shift and Ninja who are experienced LDers and disagree with me on the RC point. Although thier opinion is a valid one, I respectfully disagree as do other experienced LDers. I used to be fanatical about doing RCs but it never did anything for me, (or Billybob, the most succesful LDer that I've ever known.)

In fact, you should just read the tutorial where that idea comes from!

This is one of the most useful tutorials for inducing lucids as you'll ever read.
      Take it to heart.

      Good luck and good dreaming!

      See you around the forums.

Keep doing what you are doing, but step it up to the next level. Try doing a Wake Back To Bed with some autosuggestion and MILD. Just reactivating your logical mind in the middle of the night should trigger a few lucids, especially if you bring your focus back to becoming lucid.

I haven't had much success with B6. I've tried taking it during my WBTBs, but it just kept me too awake. I can see it helping people who fall back to sleep too easily.

Write RC on your wrist, do a reality check every time that you see it. Until you're fairly experienced, you need to be fanatical about doing reality checks.

I'm still having no luck, mate, but I'm not giving up. I'm bloody determined I'm gonna get there, if it's the last sodding thing I do!

It'll happen, the first couple are the tricky ones, but once you get past thoughts they get much easier.
