Do I go to sleep, then wake up for a WILD?

I'm confused, in the tutorial, it says that I should sleep 4-5 hours before a WILD, so do I go to sleep, wake up, then do what the tutorial tells me to do?

Preferently, yes, you can attemp it before going to sleep, but its far harder (in most cases) than after sleeping.
