      Obe/lucid Dream

After six Months of keeping a dream journal I've finally had one lucid dream, and a second OBE to date.

I was lying in my bed when all of a sudden i felt a short vibration sensation in my chest. This went as quick as it came, then i felt myself floating or raising up above my body. I then realized that i had partial paralysis, as i found it real difficult to move. After frantically struggling to move my arms and legs i managed to reach for my side lamp. I remember flicking this on and off 3 or 4 times but there was no light. I got up to turn my main light on, the same thing happened, i flicked it on and off a number of time but there was no light. By this time i realized what was happening and the fear turned into excitement. I can remember wanting to test the state i was in by trying to put my hand through the wall, i tried this but it didnt work. It was around this point that light appeared, and i was able to see quite clearly from this point on. Still feeling quite floaty and excited i began to put my jeans on then my boot, i remember having difficulty trying to tie my boot laces. my intention was to go and tell my girlfriend and tell her of my experience, then i woke up.

I was feeling a bit shakey and not wanting to go back to sleep through fear of projecting again, as i was still feeling this floating sensation although not as severe, even though i was now fully awake.

After a couple of hours i must have fallen back to sleep and to my amazement I found myself in a lucid dream. I can remember coming round a corner onto my street with my bro, he turned and said to me, "you've been robbed." I stared at my house which was now partially boarded up. At this point I remembered looking round and realizing what glorious weather we were having, it was very bright and sunny, there were quite a few people around and i remember watching a few kids playing on the other side of the road. Then I looked at my house in more detail, i looked through the partially boarded window down stairs, i notice furniture stacked up, there was also a lot of furniture stacked up outside my front door. I looked up at my top window and saw a big hole in the glass pane, like a super imposed bullit hole. At this point I said to my bro "Naahman, it's a dream" Then i went over to my van which was parked outside my house, opened the drivers door and chucked something on the drivers seat, i can remember feeling excited about being lucid, to prove it to myself, i looked at my hands and noticed i had five fingers on each hand but the middle one on both hands were just stumps. a wave of excitment rushed over me again, i began to look for further proof. I decided to see if i could fly, so i jumped on the spot, nothing happened the first time. When i tried a seconed time i slowly floated up and floated back down again. Once i realised i could fly, i started to run down my street so i could take off. the first couple of attempts i just came down like a stone skimming across water. On my third attempt I remember taking off like a plane as i spread my arms out and flying a good way down my street, my hight was first floor level. I remember wanting to go and see my girlfriend again so i started to make my way there. after flying for a while I developed an intense feeling in my chest, it wasnt unpleasent but enough to make me want to come back down and start walking instead. the feeling was kind of like being on a fair ground ride, the ones that make your belly shoot upto your mouth, this is the most easiest way of describing the feeling i had whilst air bourne. As i walked further down the road I realized the weather had changed, becoming more overcast, dark and sinister, this is where the dream ended.

Wow, an OBE and a lucid in one night. You were really in the zone. I wonder what you did right?

The flying sounds exhilirating. Seems like it was almost too real, the way it made your stomach drop. Funny how we still do stupid habitual stuff in lucid dreams, like tie our shoe laces.

As i said in my last reply, You basically see what you want to see, so if your facinated about watching yourself in your out of body state, then thats probably what you will see when you project. If you was aware that you were dreaming then you were lucid. OBE's are different from dreams in the sense that it's as if your awake just like in your waking reality. The first OBE i had was more profound the this last one. If you do a search on me you will find it. Although in this recent experience i felt the symtoms such as the paralysis, vibrations and the floating feeling, I still feel that my first experience was more realistic. I did feel a rappid heart beat in the same area of my chest but that was it. The first experience was much much clearer, as if i could actually touch what i was looking at, it was just a little hazy which i put down to the lack of light in the room.

Yeahman, I thought it pretty cool too. But i haven't a clue what i did right, in fact i didnt do anything out of the norm to be honest. Prior to my OBE/LUCID dream I did a few reality checks by looking at my hands through out the day. However, i got seemingly bored with this and forgot most of the time, to the point where i stop doing it altogether.
I use to read a lot about OBE's and LUCID dreams, but a few weeks before I wasnt actually doing anything. I distinctly remember this, simply because i had some trial software that i had to get to grips with before it expired, so i didn't have time for any of this. Personally I think all this reality checking is a bit over rated. I'm not saying don't do it, I just dont think its necassary to do it every minute of the day. It seems other ways can be more productive ie reprogramming your subconscious mind. Your subconscious seems to know what you want and gathers its own momentum over time, providing you drill it home. You can achieve this simply by applying your daily thought, for instance, the reason why i think i was able to fly in my first lucid dream was basically because i thought of nothing else when thinking about lucidity or OBE's. I wasn't bothered about going anywhere or doing anything else other than flying, period. I personally think the key factor is to build up your experiences by focusing on one aspect at a time thus giving your subconscious mind one aspect to work on rather than bombarding it with a host of desires and acheiving none.
