Wink Hello! I'm just a Newbie W/Couple Questions

Hi everyone! I joined the forum just today and have been very interested in this process and skill. I have experienced LDs quite a few times throughout my life and have also been able to control a couple smaller aspects. I remember many details right after I wake up from the dream and repeat them to myself to be sure that I will remember. So, OF COURSE, when I wake up in the morning and try to recall the dream I get through maybe the first sentence and everything is just GONE. So, obviously the DJ will be a huge help in achieving a higher level of dream recall.
I do have a few questions that I would love to have answered. If you can't answer all of them, whatever you can give input on would be great! Anything here would help. Thanx so much!!

      * Do I need to ONLY stick to working on my dream recall and not attempt inducing an LD until my recall is further along? Or is it reasonable to try to induce a lucid dream while also keeping the DJ and developing my recall?

      * Do any of you believe in DS and/or have you experienced it? If so, what is it like? Is it very difficult to achieve? If they are real, I would love to try to experience one. I'm not sure how it would be scientifically possible, but then I believe firmly that there is still much that is beyond the capable understanding of our current scientific abilities.

      * Are there any vitamins, foods, drinks, etc that are known to aid or inhibit these processes? For example, anything that makes dreams more vivid, helps with dream recall, hurts chances of LDs, weakens dreams, etc.

      * Have any of you ever had a particularly wonderful, eye opening, life changing experience?

      * Have any of you ever had a particularly horrifying, scary, life changing experience (like beyond nightmare type of negative experience)?

      * Does it make a difference whether you have another person in your bed with you or not?

      * When you have an LD or multiple, do you still feel as though you've had a good nights sleep and wake up well rested in general?

      Hey.
It is reasonable to try to induce a lucid dream while also keeping a DJ and developing your recall.
I don't know what a DS is. A nintendo DS? ha.
On one of the forum sections on here, people post dreaming aids like food and vitamins. Juice seems to help and B6 is a vitamin that also helps.
      Not really.
      No.
I'm sure snoring makes a difference.
Lucids make you feel just like you do when you've had a regular dream.

Hi Welcome to Dream Views Questions are always the best step towards knowledge

      * Do I need to ONLY stick to working on my dream recall and not attempt inducing an LD until my recall is further along? Or is it reasonable to try to induce a lucid dream while also keeping the DJ and developing my recall?

You can do both at the same time. It really does depend on the person. I usually reccomend that people start off just with recall. I mean, what good is having a Lucid Dream if you are not going to remember it. That being said, if you are remembering at least one good sized dream per night, why not do both at the same time. Thest best place to be is recalling 3-4 dreams a night. But One is all that is nesscaisry to have an LD. The more dreams you recall, the better you will be at determining dream signs and having a Lucid Dream.

I have never had a Shared Dream. I do not beleive in them, as dreams are the product of One's mind and feelings. There are those who have claimed to have them even though they are scientificly unfounded. We have a whole section of Dream Views dedicated to them, so you will get better anwsers to that question over there Doesn't hurt to try it though, right?

      * Are there any vitamins, foods, drinks, etc that are known to aid or inhibit these processes? For example, anything that makes dreams more vivid, helps with dream recall, hurts chances of LDs, weakens dreams, etc.

Vitamin B6 and B12 are great for dream vividness and recall. You can find them in bannanas naturally. Also caffine in certain instnaces cna help you stay more at the edge of awareness as you fall asleep. It can be helpful depending on the LD method you are using. Here is a tutorial about vitamins that can help with LDing. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=5869

I dont like to use any of them myself, the best way is using yor mind and staying determined

      * Have any of you ever had a particularly wonderful, eye opening, life changing experience?

I had this one Lucid Dream where I was aware of everything. The whole universe was me. As you know, in an LD, you have no real body, only a dream body which is everybit as yours as the sky is in your dream. this dream that I had, gave me full awareness of EVERYTHING. My thoughts, feeligns, and phsycial sensations where beyond my body. It was increadible. Every LD I have, Ispend time in it trying to achieve this feeling again.

      * Have any of you ever had a particularly horrifying, scary, life changing experience (like beyond nightmare type of negative experience)?

I havn't. Once you realize that you are in contorl of your mind and dreams, nothing can harm you or scare you

      * Does it make a difference whether you have another person in your bed with you or not?

Some people get uncomfortbale and cannot sleep as weel with somone else in bed. It has never bothered me, but it is an individual preference. As long as you are sleeping well, it shouldn't matter.

      * When you have an LD or multiple, do you still feel as though you've had a good nights sleep and wake up well rested in general?

Yes. In fact, I feel even better the next morning becuase I had an LD! You still are dreaming and getting all the benefits of a good night's sleep

I hope these anwsers help, and if you ever have any other quesitons, ro need any hlep at all, please feel free to send me a PM and I'll be there for ya'
