For those afraid of Sleep Paralysis

Hi! First, let me introduce myself. I'm night_watcher, and I'm pretty new to Dream Views. Love it so far.

Anyway, I've heard some awful things about Sleep Paralysis (SP). I went to youtube to see what it looks like, and man was that the wrong thing to do to a newbie! Almost enough to scare me out of trying to LD. Until I stumbled upon wikihow. (http://www.wikihow.com/Cope-with-Sleep-Paralysis). If you clicked on the link, go down to 9.1. Most of the article is doom and gloom, until 9.1 where it tells you to learn how to LD! By learning how to LD, the SP will turn into a great omen!

Oh, and for those who want to abort from the SP, I've heard that doing math in your head or moving your eyes will re-awaken your senses.

For me, the worst part about sleep paralysis is not being able to speak. The first time I awoke to it I was kind of scared, but I knew what was happening to me so I felt at ease...but still! Its terrifying if you don't know what's going on! Looking back on it, it is actually kind of fun not being able to move any part of your body.

as other says the scariest part isn't the paralyzis is the scary shadows that can come and that you can't speak so you lie there "undefended"
But ofc it is scary to not be able to move your body too >.<

Sleep Paralysis is more intimidating than anything, especially with all the horror stories out there. I don't know if I was just aware of SP sooner, so I didn't panic when it first happened.

I guess for me, I'm more entertained by the whole situation, and usually braingasm at experiencing such a bizarre natural occurrance. It's almost as fun as sitting on my feet until they fall asleep, and then attempt walking across the room.

Carful, my mom broke her foot doing that..seriously. Haha, there's a horror story for every situation.

Wow, so you guys can maintain SP for extended periods? I've had it when waking myself up, and it was so hard to move my limbs but I had to or I would fall right back into the dream. I don't like it much.
