      My worries, and my experiences..

Alrighty, I've been reading about lucid dreams for a couple of weeks, I haven't really tried anything yet, but I've always loved dreaming and this is what I've experienced and my issues:

      - I usually notice that I'm dreaming.
      - I've been under water and telling myself "I can breath"
      - I usually dream a couple of times, if I sleep for a long time.

      Worries:

      - My dreams are not clear, at all. Some of you are talking about "Not seeing differences between a dream and reality" That doesn't exist for me. My dreams are very dark, and I usually just see a small area and I don't see colors very strong. This worries me allot, is it ever going to be possible for me to see strong colors and feel like I'm in reality while I'm "sleeping"?

      - Getting a nightmare while I'm lucid dreaming. I'm a bit of a sicko, and I sometime wish to get murdered or tortured just to know how it feels like and when I think about this it makes me feel better. But then again, if it is a like a reality I might not even know I'm dreaming. (Unless some undead-demon wolf pops out of the air all of a sudden that is)

I would appreciate answers, and other tips or suggestions on where I should begin. And I'm gonna be serious and say that this seems so awesome it can't be for real. Can you really do like, STUFF? While not noticing a difference between a dream and reality?

And a question for a friend of mine: he thinks that dying in a dream and dying in reality has some kind of connection. This is why we always wake up before we get murdered, or fall to the ground from high falls. What do you think, is it possible to die by dying in a dream?

      Thanks alot, and cheers! =)

Sounds like you are a natural. Clarity could be due to many things including diet and what time you go to bed. Sleeping in will result in more vivid dreams.

Lucid dreams shouldn't become nightmares, you shouldn't be afraid of things that you know aren't real. I've allowed myself to be attacked by a T-Rex before, it was fine.

      Welcome to DreamViews.

      To your fears:

•You said that your dreams are not very clear, there are several things you can try to increase clarity and realism:
      -spinning
      -rubbing your hands
      -shouting "Increase Clarity"
-Use all of your senses (Feel, smell, listen)

•Getting a nightmare while being lucid is rubbish as a fear, because having a nightmare in a non-lucid dream would be worse, as you have unlimited power in a lucid dream you could kill or run or teleport or whatever to end you nightmare.

•You can actually do like STUFF. By the way a lucid dream is a dream in which you KNOW IT'S A DREAM. If you think it's reality it's no lucid dream. If you don't know what's possible in a ld, you may check out the LD Experience Checklist by toomanypossibilities.

•You can DEFINETLY NOT die because of a dream, as it just is a creation of your mind. To talk from experience, I "died" already several times in a lucid dream, nothing happend to me, not even in the dream. It did not even hurt.

      Cheers

Thanks for both your answers, you really cheered me up. I'm gonna try with the techniques you told me about the clarity, I really hope it works since this is my main issue.

I've always been able to tell myself "This is a dream" But I don't really think more about it, I think I need to work on this. Because I do get dreams quiet often and I love them even doh I don't see very well, it saddens me that they are so dark.

I already know my dream signs since a long time ago, but would you suggest me to make a dream journal anyway?
(Pokemon, FBI, and Getting Chased, are so always in my dreams. Don't ask me why Pokemon is there because I can't answer that. Anyway, So lets say I do notice (While in a normal dream) I'm dreaming, what should I do? Should I try to increase my clarity, hearing and feeling to make them more real?

ninja9578, you said that clarity could be due to diet. This is very interesting since I don't eat very well, any suggestions?

I've always wanted to talk to my "Nightmares" or the peoples inside them, but they don't seem to talk to me, and when someone talks to me I only hear them straight in my head, is there any ways to make the hearing part more clear?

The last question in my head is: Is there anyway I can make the dreams come out as I were actually myself? Sometimes it's like I see myself from above, or in 2d. I would like to be a bit more "Inside" the dream, to get the real feeling.

Edit: Is it important when I go to sleep, and how long I sleep? I usually sleep like, really long. (10hours~)

I'm so over exited. I really want to do this, I'll keep you up to date. And thanks ALOT for your answers!

A dream journal is not necessary if you remember your dreams. If not, or not often, you can write your dreams down whenever you wake up to increase your general dream recall.

What I can suggest you, as a general advice, plan what you want to do in a dream before going to sleep. As already mentioned, in a dream EVERYTHING is possible, as it's just in your mind. You maybe see the "goal" lists in peoples signatures here around the forums, that's what I'm talking about. It could be like be Spiderman and fight against Morpheus or fly to tibet and talk to the dalai lahma, have sex with a beautiful man/woman, destroy new york, fly to the moon, meet Bob Marley, anything you would like to do which is not possible in real life.

I can't help you out with the point of view problem, as I did experience 3rd person just some times in a dream and never in a lucid one, but you may create a topic about this, maybe one more experienced lucid dreamer does know how to change this.

Food is important in my opinion, as I do not sleep very well without eating and drinking enough. Some people say that eating/drinking specific things before going to sleep may even increase the number of lucid dreams, but on one hand I can not confirm this, as I didn't try and on the other hand you seem to be a natural lucid dreamer anyway.

Your dreams seem in general very strange, with unnormal dreamscapes. In this case you may try special WILD techniques to jump into a particular, from your wish created dream scene at the beginning of your dream. Check out the Tutorials for more information.

Hope I can help and good luck

I usually remember my dreams, I usually tell my friends what I've been dreaming about because they like hearing about them. (My dreams are super-wierd) And I dream often. So I think I'll just skip the Dream Journal for now, I'll just write down some notes.

I always eat before I go to bed.

I tried wilding this night, but I was terrified and I was shaking and every single thing that happened in my body made me open my eyes. I even looked at my hand once (Which I had written A A on, and then I was like "WTF ITS GONE AM I DREAMING?" And then I remembered it was on the other side of the hand, this happened twice)

When I attempt wilding, I get dizzy and I feel everything shaking, this is something that I've been feeling many times before when I'm very tired and I try to fall asleep quickly, this is very uncomfortable and always makes me open my eyes. Do you know if this might be one of those "Tests" my brain challenges me with?

      And thanks again!

I'm not very experienced with long wild attempts, because In all my wild attempts I was able to enter a dream within several minutes.

If your body does shake I would consult a doctor , but if it just feels like this it may be a part of you entering sleep paralysis. Have you read the tutorial about it?

Yes, these are excactly the tests your brain plays on you. Try to resist the urge to move...

As for your weird dreams, lack of colors, and 2nd\upper vision of the dreamscape... I've been having these too! Some dreams are "realistic" and some are less... There's a computer game I like playing in which you fly warplanes from WWII and I seem to get at least one dream of me having dogfight per night. The intresting part of this is that I don't seem to have a body at all, my "body" is the aircraft, and my point of view can be within the cockpit or from the outside... I can feel my right hand on the stick and the left one on the keyboard, but as I said I don't have a physical body in these dreams... I'm trying to find a way to make this into a good dreamsign.

I was probably shaking because I was scared and terrified.

I usually get really dizzy, and this is annoying like hell.
