      Smile New here

Good afternoon everyone, I am CrescentFox, a new member of dreamviews.

I have only had one lucid dream, and it was by total accident. After having it, I did a little research and ended up here. I was wondering if it's possible to use subliminal messaging, binaural beats, or self hypnosis to induce lucid dreaming? If it is, could someone please pin point a thread to me? Preferably with links to any mp3 files?

One more question; is it possible to access memories that you normally wouldn't be able to using lucid dreaming? Like for example your first few days after birth.

Hey crescentfox. People have said they have used that kind of stuff to induce a lucid, but i have never done it. I don't think you could access memories that you don't remember. Your mind would just make them up. You could relive a memory that you can remember.

      Hey there Crescent!

I've personally tried binaural beats, but it basically made no difference whatsoever. However, you can download some lucid MP3's from here. - http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=55276 I prefer the EILD ones. :p

As for accessing memories, I'm not really sure about that. I've had LD's in the past, and they've triggered me to remember a memory I had seemingly forgotten.

You could use subs and hypnosis as a supplement, but I'd focus on conscious methods. Consciousness is the fabric of lucidity, after all! I'd definetely try meditation, though. It's the focus you need, but with unfettered self-confidence.

Memories in dreams are just like memories in real life. They can be inaccurate. As long as you aren't using it for criminal investigation purposes, go ahead and dream on!

We can't really say for sure whether any forgotten memories in lucids are accurate or not. It might be possible, but how's anyone going to know?

Thanks for your answers everyone. I have started to do reality checks and figured out what could be a potential dream sign.

Abra, if it's not too much to ask for, can you give me some pointers on meditation. I started to practice it about a month ago, and it's rather difficult to "stop thinking". What I do is first observe my thoughts for a few minutes, then focus on one thought, then try to focus on nothing. During this entire time I let my body go numb.

You don't need to focus on "nothing." In fact, with lucid dream meditation, I focus on awareness. I try to be aware of my breath, of the temperature of my hands and feet, of the weight of my clothes, of the sound of the ceiling fan, etc, etc.

Hmmm...so basically I need to focus my awareness on by body and senses in general? That seems to make sense. Thanks again.
