Nope, that's one of the tutorials that we forgot to write... I'll get on that.

A dream guide is a character that has more knowledge about your dream world that other DCs. While usual DCs are dumb and zombie-like, dream guides are smart, energetic, and answer questions about your dream world.

Some people create dream guides, some don't. I don't know why, probably a subconscious thing. Check for animals or characters that are recurring in your dreams, then next time you are lucid, ask them something.

They are manifestations of your subconscious that linger, sort of like Brad Pitt was in fight club, but in a less neurotic way.

Don't generalize. Look what you've done:

Your body in a dream is just as illusory as theirs. Their behavior can make just as much sense as "yours." It's about perception, expectation, and past experience (including what people read on this site).

That being said, I consider a Dream Guide to be a Dream Character that is nice to me, and continues to appear in my lucid dreams. Dream guides are, basically, imaginary friends (only you can see them, hear them, and they can affect their virtual environment).

No, no. I believe you perfectly, and I have also had "zombie DC" dreams. I'm just pointing out that if people constantly say that "dream characters are zombie-like," then it will eventually seep into our dreams (and I'd prefer if everyone's dream characters were as complex as they are!).

Precisely. They'll behave generally as you expect them to while you're interacting with them. Don't settle for shitty DCs just because someone told you you should. Except them ALL to behave just like ordinary people or more. I don't like the term 'DG' because ALL of my dream characters behave like that, save for a handful of shitty ones.

Most of the time they're nice, but sometimes they steal your jacket and when you ask it back they fight andthen you land on your head and next thing you know you're in Spain and still fighting
What's the difference between dreaming that you're lucid and lucid dreaming?
