Question Dreaming that I cannot open my eyes

Hello. I am very new at all this so please keep that in mind if my questions are silly, thanks.

I keep having different dreams where I am so tired I cannot open my eyes but for a few seconds at a time. I tell the people in my dream that I am too tired for all this and they always laugh at me. At this point I kind of realize I am dreaming, but not lucid, and still I cannot open my eyes.

I think this is new since I have been trying to become lucid. I don't remember having dreams like that before and now it is recurring in different dreams. I have not had my first LD yet.

      Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for the help and this great website.

Never had this, you can try to "take something off your eyes" like know there is a sleep mask or something on your eyes and use your hands to take it off.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched

      Thanks for the fast reply.

I have tried rubbing my eyes in the dream but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't use a sleep mask.

Maybe I should look at it as a dream sign?

I know, but you could probably trick your mind that you do wear one.

You could use it as a dream sign but you already know you were lucid heh.

Hello, and welcome to Dreamviews, Carina!

Are you usually exhausted before you go to bed?

Years ago when I was first figuring out what lucid dreams where, I had situations in my dreams where I can't open my eyes, and the frustration eventually becomes so intense that I wake up. I figured this was because I had an irregular sleeping pattern, and after I managed to clear that issue up the "sleep within dreams" problem also went away.

I hope I've answered your question, or at least given you something to think about to help you get better at lucid dreaming. Good luck to you, and happy lucids.
