I couldn't find a waving smiley so a banana will have to do

Thought I'd introduce myself to you lovely people. I've been lurking the forum for a few days and then decided to register. I saw a program on TV the other day and it was about dreams. Lucid dreams came up and i decided to do some research on t'internet and eventually found myself here. Needless to say, I've become very excited at the prospect of learning how to have a lucid dream or perhaps increasing my chances.

I think I might of had a lucid dream some time ago. I remember realizing I was in a dream and attempting to fly. I never got more than a few inches off the ground and was effectively floating past people and bumping my knees on the floor. I remember getting increasingly frustrated by my failure to at least be able to hover any higher and no manic flapping of my arms would help change it. It didn't last very long and that's all I can remember of it.

So now I want to give it another go and try to reach the heady heights of floating above people's knee level (it helps to have a goal, I suppose )

I just have one question so far: Can the ability to LD be passed down genetically? It's an odd question and I only ask as my dad seems to have a natural ability to lucid dream and yet the only bits of his genes I seem to have are his funny feet and a love for painting

Sorry I'm rambling on here, but it's practice for when I type up my dream journal. Anyway, it's well worth reading this post just in case it sends you to sleep and you get a LD from it

Look forward to reading more posts on here and finding out more about dream states.
