      what does it feel like?

      Hi.
I'm kinda a noob to this whole LD thing. in fact, i just found out about it. I've tried out some of the more logical technics (e.g.: WILD). But something always bothers me about this whole dealio. From the way it's explained here, being in a Lucid Dream is the exact same a consciousness, just with the fantastical factor in play (e.g.: Anything is possible). You move just like in RL, fell like in RL.

I ask, firstly, What does it feel like, really? If I WILD into an LD, will I truly not feel any different that I do while in a class at school? Fully awake, and kicking? Or is there something off about the whole sensation?

The second thing I want to ask has a bit more relevance to the WILD technic. I've got very good dream recall, but that's not really relevant (other than to say that, yes, I can do it). I want to know how it feels when you make the direct transition from reality to dream.

ask because I want to know what to expect on my next attempt. I made one last night. I got the whole way, tricked my body into sleep paralysis, heard some whispers (one said "Oh! Frightening!"). My head started to feel numb, and such, like I was fading from reality. Then all of a sudden the black view of my eyelids flashed a brilliant blue color (think sky blue), and there was this super loud explosion of static in my ears(?) followed by a slight ringing. This lasted for all of 1 second before I sat bolt upright from the shock!

Is that what it's like? just a sudden BOOM, your dreaming? or was this hypnogogic?

      This is all my opinion..

First, lucid experiences feel the same as waking life. However, I don't focus too much on my dream environment, and so maybe it's different with others. But I cannot distinguish between RL and lucidity.

Second, I don't know if this is a very good description, but to me it literally feels as if I'm being taken to a different dimension/world. You really can't know what it means until you've experienced it.

It's different for everyone, I would have just counted it as HI rather than a dream.

      Oh, welcome btw.

      Nice explanation.

I do hope one day (sooner please) I will LD and feel everything in my "reality world".

Can you elaborate a little more on 'being taken to a different dimension'? That feeling may vary from person to person. Is it like a sudden jolt, and you're there, or do you slowly fade? Or is it contingent (meaning, no real feeling)?

      thanks for the welcome.

I can't help you on the WILD part, as I have little experience in that, but I can tell you how a lucid dream feels. Get up from your chair and look around. Good? That's how a lucid dream feels. It doesn't seem possible, but it's as real as real life, except you and everything around you are really a dream. Trust me, that's why I lucid dream.

EDIT: Off-topic, wow Higurashi, is it just me or do you post in almost every on-topic thread that I do? At like the same time, too!
