new dreamer

Hello,

My name is Ben and I am a noob. I have successfully had a lucid dream once a few nights ago. I was so amazed and bewildered I had to do some research. After some looking around I found this site. Wow. I have learned more about what happens when you sleep then I ever thought possible. This website has given me lots of useful tips. Thank you everyone who has helped make this site available.

I would like to be a regular lucid dreamer and am very interested in the adoption program. I think my next post will be there.

Welcome to DV, Ben!

We're glad that you've been enjoying your time here so far and if there's anything else we can do to help, just let us know.

As far as the adoption forum, we have a general rule that adoptees have to be here for two weeks before posting. That gives them a chance to get to know the site and a number of the members here in hopes that they can find someone to adopt them. By all means feel free to ask questions and get in touch with people, but wait two weeks before requesting to be officially adopted. It's mainly to help cut down on the number of people who stay for a week and then just stop coming.

Congratulations on your first lucid dream! If you haven't already, I'd recommend starting a dream journal where you can record your dreams and lucids. If you want, we have a DJ sub-forum where you can post for others to read if you so desire, or just for your own records. The Tutorials sub-forum also has a lot of information if you haven't seen it already and it's a great place to start.

I'm glad you decided to do a little research on what happened to you instead of just dismissing it. You're lucky to have had a memorable spontaneous lucid. Now it is time for more

It's not a problem

Posts in that forum have to be approved for others to see it, but it won't be deleted. If it doesn't show up in the next week or two, let one of the Dream Guides (with the green names, like Robot Butler) know and they'll do what they do.
