      the little noob

hi all, im new (as if you cant tell). i have things to ask, might be to many things to ask, but any ways iv been reading around on this site, and i like the place, alot of cool people.

      1. if you can remember 2 dreams a night do you need a dj? (im asking for my sis)

      2. how is it possible to be aware your dreaming?

      3. i know about reality checks, but how can i do one if i have no control over what i do in a dream? if i try to do a reality check in a dream do that mean im lucid and dont know it?

      4. would music help or mess up? (i like to listen to that Echocrome music on my psp)

i think ill ask the others questions later.

Hello, welcome to Dream Views! :]

      1. A DJ is beneficial no matter what your dream recall is.

      2. Basically, your mind becomes conscious whie you're dreaming, but you don't wake up.

      3. You can't really be lucid and not know it, being lucid and not knowing it would just be a regular dream. Typically, something would cause you to do an RC (dream sign, habit, whatever) and upon that failing you'd realize you're lucid.

      4. If you're trying a technique like WILD, music is bad. Otherwise, I don't think it makes a difference.

Instead of asking questions, how about browsing around the forum a bit to see if any of them have been answered? Good luck and have fun!

      Welcome

      1. Should always keep a dream journal.

      2. You are conscious so you know you are dreaming and you can control it. You don't wake up either.

      3. already answered

      4. I listen to music every night while falling asleep, as for wild I listen to music while trying it but while WILDing I only listen to soft, relaxing music.

Hope this helps and for more help PM somebody and take a look at the tutorials.

      Hay.
      1. Even if she remembers 2 a night, a journal may help her remember more. Plus, the journal is useful for other things, like recognizing dreamsigns.
      2. When you realize you are dreaming, it's like you switch from an 1975 tv to a 2009 hi def one, then jump into it.
      3. Just do reality checks during the day, 5-10 times, and eventually you will do it in a dream out of habit.
      4. Personally, I don't listen to music when I try induction techniques. I tend to get distracted.

      welcome man!

every question has been answered, but I would like to add on to the question about music. Some people are saying that its not good to listen to music if you're trying to WILD. Well im a type of person who is listening to music all the time so I'm a bit used to it and can easily fall asleep with it. Also when i try to WILD with WBTB, its hard for me to stay up or not get distracted by other things so I listen to music to keep myself awake and be concentrated on it.

So it varies from person to person
      I don't have a signature

      Or do I?

The tutorials may all seem like different subjects, but they are really all aiming at the same goal. Try anything that jumps out at you, but have patience and don't get frustrated if it doesn't work right away.

Generally, you want to do a few basic things, no matter what.
Keep a dream journal and review it often to find dreamsigns.
Do Reality Checks throughout the day to increase your awareness.
Integrate some kind of Wake Back To Bed into your sleep schedule.

The trickier meditation-based tutorials, like WILD, should all be used in addition to these basic things.
