      Ahoyhoy

Hi All! Brand spankin' new to the forums here...Name is Josh, nice to meet you! Anyway, I've had a few lucid dreams in my time, albeit randomly. In fact, I almost had one last night. Not entirely sure of the terminology you guys/gals would use, but SP came very easily(with the aid of 3mg melatonin and 200mg vit B6). I've read that some people have had sort of like... photographs or slides of information/memories fly by them, whilst sitting back and observing. This happened shortly after I managed SP, I also had a huge onrush of tingling/mental vibration(I guess). It was quite awesome.

However, not much occured after that, I think I had a few weird'ish dreams(don't remember much at all, they were there though). So, I decided to have some fun with SP! I figured out/managed to move my body parts without actually moving them, this didn't require much concentration, but I was able to keep the SP selectively. For example, I could bring certain body parts out of it, move them, then have it set back in instantly.

I did this for a couple of hours(felt like 20 mins). Can't wait to try again tonight!!!

      Cheers all,
      Josh

      Hi, Josh!
That sounds like a pretty intense night. Try reading a few WILD (wake initiated lucid dream) guides. They might give you some ideas about how to transition from that SP state into a full lucid dream. There are a bunch of guides in the tutorial section, if you haven't already found them:

It was interesting to say the least.. I've had such states before, but was never very good at controlling them. I feel the melatonin helped a great deal, as it was putting me to sleep rather gently.

Thanks for the link, I joined up here looking for some guidance as to where to start. I hope my first post didn't come off as arrogant or intimidating to others who may or may not have posted.

I have a lot of experience with entheogens and I smoke pot regularly. I feel that with my previous experiences through psychoactives that I have become very aware of myself, body, and mind.

Hope a few people can at least relate to this! Hehe

      Cheers,
      Josh

I would be interested to hear how your experience with entheogens parallels your experiences with dreaming.

I've known a lot of people who explored deep trances through different avenues, whether it be drugs, meditation, or dreaming. It is amazing how similar the experiences can be. I've always believed they are all just different paths to the same state(s) of mind.

I don't think you came across arrogant at all We have dreamers of all experience levels and ages around here, coming from different backgrounds. All of us will always have both things to teach and things to learn.

I find that generally, the entheogens(mushrooms in this case) can produce a surreal state. I like the idea of getting away from reality, with one or the other. However, whether dreaming or tripping, both give me perspective. This perspective allows me a broader view of my/others thoughts, actions, ideas, etc.

Most definately a different state of mind, lol. I like to observe, so it was especially interesting last night with the SP. It was awesome how I could wake up certain body parts, just by.. thinking.

When you move a limb or whatever, you don't think about it, and it just happens, it's only muscle memory + nerve impulse. But this felt like I was willing it to move, clearly a different state of mind.

Holy shit!! I just realized.... and now I feel silly. The sleep paralysis WAS a WILD!!! I only just realized because the movement of my arms should have been mitigated by my person being under blankets.

      *Dances* LoL.

Heck yes. Normally, by the time you're getting sleep paralysis like that, you are pretty much asleep. I will frequently get sleep paralysis where I am frozen, lying on my back. Then, I shake myself out of it, only to realize I'm really lying on my side. Or, more commonly, I will be watching crazy hallucinations bouncing around my room while I'm paralyzed, then I wake up and Open my eyes. Were they even closed to begin with? Don't be fooled!

So, you pretty much spent 20 minutes of lucid dream time lying in bed

That explains why 2 hours passed, but it only felt like a 20 minute dream. You were really asleep!

Your body can't actually move at all in real SP. I don't know what you experienced, but I don't think it was SP.
