Well hello! I am new here. I am quite interested in lucid dreaming and thought it would be just swell to talk about this subject with other people. I first became intrigued with the notion of lucid dreaming after viewing the film "Waking Life", which I have to assume most people here have already heard of.

I have thus far only managed to have one lucid dream, and it didn't last long. In the dream, I was in my room and noticed the classic alteration of the clock whenever I looked at it. What triggered my realization of the dream was that one minute I looked outside and it was night, and the next second I looked outside it was daylight. I walked downstairs, and as a test I thought to myself "fly", and immediately after this I began to float right up the steps. I woke up about two seconds later.

I also wanted to discuss three experiences which aren't necessarily lucid dreams, but concern dreaming.

1. For several months after graduation I couldn't find a job. In a dream, a felllow graduate offered me a position, but I told him I just got a new job so I couldn't accept. The next day after I woke up I received a phone call from a company I applied to offering me a position. I had no knowledge of this before I went to sleep.

2. A few months ago I had a dream in which a friend from college, whom I hadn't spoken to or even thought about for months, came to the window of my friends house (where I was staying), knocked on the window, and waved. The next morning my friend told me this same person had left him a voicemail during the night. The really odd thing is that the voicemail was left very late at night, and was likely around the same time I had this dream.

3. About a month ago, I had a dream that my friend, myself, and a group of other people were discussing a film. My friend turned to me and said something like "And what do you think?" At that exact moment my phone rang, waking me up, and it was that same friend, calling me to come watch a movie.

It is difficult for me to dismiss all three of these as mere coincidence. I don't know what it means exactly, but I thought it was pretty interesting.

Anyway, I am looking forward to good discussion and learning some interesting facts here at this forum.
