      Yay for dreaming!

Hello all! Warning: Long-winded post from a newbie!

Okay. So I was introduced to lucid dreaming about say, 3 weeks ago. So far I've only had 3 lucid dreams.
Each one was right after waking up from regular sleep, followed by a nap. I think its called MILD?
I'm dying to try WILD soon, once I get better at the current type. The first time I dreamed was amazing,
I remembered to do reality checks, and then after some exploring the initial shock woke me up! >_<

The next time I found myself lucid, I made myself levitate, and now I'm hooked!
Inducing each one felt so overwhelming! My only problem was each time I felt myself
fading off I got excited and woke up out of it, but I only fell asleep naturally out of nowhere.
Though my dream recall is pretty good, I plan to start writing them down soon.

Oh yeah, I had a question! This might have something to do with it, but when I was in my dream
(first person mode) my limbs in 1 of my dreams felt like they were asleep/heavy I could barely move them.
While I was still somewhat awake (or I could have possibly been completely asleep, just dreaming about myself in bed).
Is this normal? I read something about sleep paralysis, but I don't know.

      Thank you for having me!

About the limb heaviness thing.I think it might've been a FA? it sounds like SP. FA's(false awakenings) are when you dream you woke up and try to get up, only to realize you cant move at all.(SP) it feels like theres a lead blanket on you. scares most people who dont/didnt know what it was-including me. but if you could move them at ALL then it definitely was a dream.in that case- im not too clear on this since im a noob too but i think if you focus on your dream surrondings using all 5 of your senses you being drawn more into the dream and be thinking less about your REAL body more about your DREAM body. but that could be completely wrong ill search on the forums to see what i can find about that, i remember reading that exact same thing! somewhere.....Anyways Good luck with your LD's!

Neat! I too enjoy defying gravity in my dreams. :]

I very much suggest that you start writing your dreams down before working too hard on lucid dreaming techniques. The benefits that spring from writing down dreams (increased recall, increased dream-pattern awareness, increased vividness and detail) will enhance your lucid dreaming efforts (and their products) greatly.

About the limb heaviness thing. If you were dreaming, I say it isn't "normal," but it's certainly nothing to worry about. Probably won't happen again, unless you think about it too much. If you were awake, then your arm fell asleep. Simple as that.

Haha, so I guess for me to worry about it, I'd have to be positive of whether
I was awake or not, so since I'm torn, I'm going to forget about it! Thanks!

I'm really excited, but at night I always feel really anxious about trying to
lucid dream, really unsure of myself. But when its daytime and I want to lucid
dream during a nap, I'm always okay and can just calmly try it out.

I want to gain enough stamina to try and lucid dream at night, but I
have this underlying fear that once I'm asleep (since I've only lucid
dreamed for maybe 2 hours at a time) that I'll suddenly get scared
and not be able to wake up. Sounds a bit silly when I think about it,
but I don't want to be trapped in a bad dream for 8 hours!

Yeah I definitely want to start writing them down, since my dreams haven't
been vivid at all. One was actually sepia tone haha. Thanks for all your help (:

Remember: it's all just a dream. Your dream. No need to fear! If you become lucid during a nightmare, it shouldn't be too hard to turn around. I'd think people would be more scared of being non-lucid in dreams. o__o

REM periods last anywhere from 10 minutes to a little over an hour. You don't have to worry about getting stuck in a dream for a whole night. ;]

I guess you're right, I am more scared in a nightmare when I don't know
      I'm dreaming and it feels real! :B That's a relief to know, I won't
be too freaked out now, hopefully that's means I'll have enough
guts to try it out tonight. :D

I have another question for you guys, when it comes to WILD? During this
technique, will I talk aloud and move about since its wake induced or will
it be just like I'm sleeping? And can I do so at night? Thank you all for
listening, I can't wait to try this stuff out!

Doing a WILD will be just like if you were sleeping.the only difference is your AWARE your sleeping/dreaming.so it depends on your sleeping habits.

      Thanks!

Sorry for all the Question but I've got (hopefully) only one more!

Is their a thread listing all the abbreviations associated with Lucid
Dreaming? I'd like to be informed. LOL
