      Talking Hello Dream Views.

I go by Esuna, because I am fascinated by the aspect of white magic. "Remove harmful status effects." is what Esuna does when it is classified under white magic of the Final Fantasy universe I once forgot.., and I thought it'd be appropriate to use.

I came to this forum and this neat site because I was googling lucid dreaming in the first place, as I'm sure that's how many people stumble across this place! Haha.

What compelled me to learn more about it in the first place is that about two nights ago I had a dream of sorts, and I can barely recall it now, but I remember having it, was the important thing. It didn't quite hit me somewhat that I was dreaming, but it seems that the common factor to realize that was to notice people from school. It wasn't that I was lucid, but I was aware...a quiet observation to this personal dream I was having and watching it play out like some kind of movie and I was assuming a role at the same time. I still remember a dream I had about a year ago where I was being taken away up in the air by a rubber band around my wrist! The fact is...I barely dream at all..or even remember my dreams, so these are the only two dreams that I can really recall, and I think it's a kind of a shame, whereas a friend of mine records all her dreams in a journal just for the sake of interpretation, not to attempt lucidity. I would like to do both.

As I read more and more on the homepage, I became fascinated at the idea that dreams could be controlled. And it seems like something habitual, and I am at a low in my life right now, and am seeking to try and make some kind of habit, so that is why I decided to join the forums! I wish to seek personal gains and goals to fight my indecisiveness and to have some new experiences in my life. I'm not entirely sure if Lucid dreams are therapeutic?

Sorry for a long intro. :P

This. YES. They are very therapeutic, and this seems to be a very critical and useful point of lucid dreaming!

Welcome to dreamviews, your life sounds rather chaotic right now, so this could be just the thing for you.

However, white magic, would be a personal experience, and not something you can easily share with others. Please don't think that lucid dreaming is something mystical.

You should be keeping a dream journal, though you have many dreams per night, we rarely remember more than one. Change that with a dream journal, train yourself to remember your dreams. This will help you more than any other singular task you can do.

      Good luck!

Thank you for the welcome and answering my question!

My life is pretty much a mess, but I rather not get too hung up on that fact and am looking for ways to solve my dillemas. I am very pleased to hear that lucid dreaming is therapeutic! I kind of have an awkwardness to getting started, but I already have a Dreamjournal set up on notepad, and have a very terrible recall right now so it is blank and new, haha. I was basically lucky to even remember my dreams, and I very much want to improve this.

Good! I use notepad as well.

As well as the actual dream, try and write down any feelings you had, or even if it's just a fragment of a dream, write it down. It helps.

Oh, I don't think it's mystical, haha. I'm just fascinated by the idea that curative properties can be induced by a mind over matter sort of thing and its origins that developed these notions, and has nothing to do with lucid dreaming. Although it'd be interesting to see if I could do something like that in one.

How might I go about training to remember my dreams, if I may ask? And I'll be sure to record my fragments or if any dreams luckily "pop up".

Bingo. You're spot on with that.

Tell yourself that you will remember your dreams when you wake up, believe that you will, record any and all dreams, don't skip writing one down, always jot down what you can as soon as possible, make it detailed and long. Remember it.

Any more questions? Feel free to ask. :]

Thank you for taking your time to answer my questions, I really appreciate it!

I think for now, I'll just try to take some of the information in small bites and see where I can go with it before I get too ahead. Perhaps if I have any more questions later on, I could ask you then? I am really trying to work on sleeping at earlier times, so I should get going for now.

      No problem.

Well, reality check vividly, keep a dream journal honestly, and keep your head lucid, even while awake.

Check out the tutorials for lots of info.

Absolutely! Feel free to PM me, or just make a thread about it if you want to ask anything.

Oh, duh, one more obvious piece of info.
      SLEEP
You can't dream without sleep, so do it, now. Always get a reasonable amount of sleep.

I think some of the tips have really helped me out. I went to bed around 1:30 last night, had some dreams, but they were too hard to recall and very vague and cryptic to even bother, a stirring of sorts. I woke up a few times but could not recall anything. It was at 5 in the morning I woke up again and couldn't go back to sleep. I checked the forums this time, and saw your post here, looking around some of the tutorials. I made myself some warm, soothing english tea in the meantime as I was browsing. This helped me relax and calm down, I think I was a bit too tense and ancipitating some fabulous dreams to come and nothing happened. I turned my laptop off and went back to bed, it must've taken ages for me to finally fall asleep, but I remained adamant, counting my breaths to 100 a few times, my body really got heavy when I did that, started to fade in and out. I kept repeating that I would remember whatever dreams I would have and felt confident about it. I think being able to relax was what helped me do it. I was feeling too stressed all the time, and I was able to dream one last weird dream that I remember fully! As soon as I woke up, I immediately went for my laptop and typed down what I remembered. I have a decent chunk of a paragraph in my first ever dream journal entry. 8 am I woke up, so it must've lasted about 3 hours roughly.

At this point, I just want to be able to keep recalling my dreams rather than taking control. I was incredulous as I typed out my dream that it was so out of place that I was unaware and just went along with it without doing reality checks. It should've been so obvious a few times in this little adventure of a dream I had.

So I just wanted to post this and thank you for the links because if it weren't for that, I might've not had a dream to remember this morning.

Hey, Esuna. I'm new here too.
      Welcome!

Maybe we can talk sometime and push each other towards that goal of Lucid dreaming.

Remember, it takes two to play a game of Go.

Thanks Funkyoshi. I'd be up for that! Although I tried playing Go a long time ago when I used to be interested in Japanese culture, but I kind of sucked at it haha.

k, I added you to my buddy list. If you have a dream journal, I'll comment in it once in a while, if that's ok?
