      Hey everyone...

this is my first forum post. I decided to post because I am very very interested in lucid dreaming, I have been for some time now. Anyway, I recall many of my dreams, its rare that I don't. My problem is that I can't recall if I had any kind of Concious control while in them.

for Instance, a quick summery, last night I had a dream, it sounds funny just bear with me please. I was running from an obese woman in a grocrie store, we both had black cases of throwing knives. Some knives were used for straight throwing while others for bouncing off walls, about 5 different kinds. I would use the isles for cover while tossing a knife her way at every oppertunity. I remember looking at the roof and seeing a advertising sign and thinking "thats where I need to go", with that I jumped up there no problem and layed low. Theres alot more to it but I don't want to bore anybody. I felt like I had control picking which knife to throw at her, and where to run too. But I couldn't stop running, and I couldn't throw my knives better than her.

I don't know what it means, I do know that I have alot of dreams like this, and I'd love to be able to control more aspects of them.

      hi and welcome!

When you have a lucid dream you "know" you are dreaming and are "there". You are on the right track, and having influence in dreams is nice, but lucid dreaming is infinitely better, a good analogy would be a mouse running through the maze and having control over where to turn, if the mouse became "lucid" it'd grow 100 times in size, destroy the maze and it's human master and spawn a few hot chicks and then go exploring the galaxy.

Sounds like a fairly normal dream, within context. You usually have just as much free-will within a dream as you would in real life. The big difference is KNOWING your dreaming and realizing the amount of choices you actually have. Obviously my experience only applies to myself, but lets say I was analyzing my own dream. Having such a vivid memory of the dream and not knowing I become lucid doesn't even sound like an option for me... I've been lucid about 3 or 4 times in the past few years, only recently did I know what being lucid actually was. Regardless, I couldn't even fathom not knowing that something special or unique had happened. I just can't wrap my head around the idea that you wouldn't know you were lucid. Even if I couldn't remember the dream... I would still have the memory of knowing that I became conscious of being in a dream. (Does that make sense?)

Maybe this doesn't apply to most people... Couldn't tell you. Good luck with you're future adventures, this lady sounds quite hostile.
