      An introduction and a story

Hey hey. Azra here. I registered on this forum a few years ago, and wasn't very active due to work and social reasons. I made this new account since my old one is not letting me start new topics or post anything, but that's a different story.

I've had a rare few lucid dreams over the past few years, but with little success in control or recall. I've recently decided I want to get out of the dry spell I'm in for good, and become a regular lucid dreamer. It will be hard, but I wanted to read on current LD-related topics and maybe pick up some tips from people here to help me get better.

Also, here's something that happened about a week ago which some of you may find interesting. I was with my girlfriend for the weekend and one evening, she was extremely tired. About 5 minutes after she went to sleep, she started making noises and I asked her if she was alright. She started talking back in a quiet, slow tone that sounded strange. It turns out that she was asleep, and I only discovered this when she woke up. After falling asleep again we got into another conversation and I asked her what she could see around her. She told me in a LOT of detail what she saw, and when she woke up, I told her what she'd said and to her surprise, it was the same scene she saw in her dream. After a few more attempts we managed to interact in almost every way once she'd fallen asleep. I could control her dreams by auto suggestion, and describing what was around her. She also responded perfectly to my touch, and to my surprise, went as far as kissed me. When she woke up, she said everything we'd done had happened in her dream.

This is the first time I've experienced anything like this. Does anyone have any similar stories? Even hints at how it could be done? I'm a very deep sleeper, so it didn't work with me. Could it be possible for me to get into this state?

Sorry for the long topic. Hi to everyone and if you have any similar experiences, I'd be interested to hear them

      Welcome to Dream Views Azra.

If true, this is really an interesting story, as one's body is normally paralysed while dreaming, except for the eyes. It is proven that dreamers can gather information with their five senses while in a dream, but they can't move their real body.
The only explanation I have is that your girlfriend was in a kind of half sleep/dream state due to her tiredness. I never heard that such a state can be archived, where you can talk with the outside world during a dream neither that something like this excistes.

But in fact, I'm no professional, neither am I a scientist.

Interesting story and good luck on future lucid dreams

      Cheers

Very cool. I wonder if she was in some sort of hypnotic trance. Weird. Magical Mike was trying something similar with his brother a while back.

Send me a PM if you want us to try and figure out what happened with your old account. If not, don't worry about it.

      Wow, extremely intriguing!

Never heard of one communicating to someone that is dreaming, extraordinary!

She might have been in some state very related to a hypnotic trance, or some other trance where she was aware of the waking life.

But really, how many of you have tried to talk to someone in that is dreaming? There might be some times where communication somehow can achieved.

Welcome to dreamviews and that's a very interesting story. When someone is asleep, you can sometimes ask them questions and they will answer these questions in all honesty. Beware, if they are awake and just acting though Although, that's not the same as your case, it's just an interesting scenario that I thought I should throw out there. As to your case, it sounds like she was in a hypnotic trance, but, she was still able to move, maybe she was still in NREM even though she was tired and should have entered REM. That would explain why her body wasn't paralyzed
