Help I don't understand my WILD

Well so after reading a lot about Lucid Dreaming I figured I would go for a go (after about 2 years). I saw many techniques and the WILD technique stood out to me the most because I remember that I went into that kind of state a few times in my life. Basically, and I don't know how, I achieved WILD I supposed on my first go, here is what it felt like. I am posting on the forums to find out two things, one, if it was WILD or if I can achieve lucidity from the technique I used, two, how do I progress to a lucid dream?

P.S My in school friend who has lucidity told me that what i had was a sleep paralysis or night terror.

This is basically what I did
      1. I listened to Unison Therapy's Sample Music while I slept
      2. I relaxed myself on my bed and gradually let myself fall asleep
This part I don't know much about I just was in like awake to half sleeping mode in like a fraction of a second I truly don't know what happened to me
      3. I was half awake in my head and I wasn't sure if I was in WILD or not
      4. I questioned myself then told myself that this was WILD and that it was just in the middle and the numbness will come
      5. Numbness did start to come and then I was just awake in my head and then i was numb everywhere

      This is what happened
      1. It just felt good i didn't see anything i heard slight laughter in the background of the music already playing
      2. I felt happy but for not reason
      Ask me for more details

This is how I got out
      1. I just tried to move my arm really hard, i knew i could move my arm if i really wanted to but then throughout the technique i would try to move my arm and it would twitch a bit
      2. in the end i moved my arm and my whole body just lurched forward and i was kind of out of breath

So yea, was it sleep paralysis or was it mild? Can I get lucid from this and how? Does this hurt my body at all if i constantly do this?

btw very important i just learned from my friend that if you open your eyes those are your dream eyes. I opened my eyes in the middle of the night and then i was still numb so i was like wtf why am i still numb but my awake through my eyes? So are these my dream eyes and what would happen when i turn around?

Sounds to me like you went through SP and rule number one of SP, is that you never try to break out of it. Just try to relax and think about a scene from memory. Sometimes you may not end up where you're thinking about...but it helps the process of your mind to say "hey, it's time to start dreaming".

This does sound like SP. Don't try to break it unless you really aren't comforatble or just want to get out of it. Remember nothing can hurt you it's just Hypnogic Hallucinations. If you keep at it, you will probably end up in a dream fully lucid.

Okay thanks, but can you get to an obe through a PS? My friend told me that if you try to flip yourself around in your head you might be able to see your body laying there.

Btw, what is the difference between PS and Wild? Also i told a couple of my friends who achieved lucidity that i had this and they told me this couldn't be the WILD technique not could it be SP since I was awake before this happened and I was basically making myself do this and you can't make yourself go into a SP. Is this true?

Read a little more up on SP, it might be correct http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=11932
just announced all of my feelings while I had the SP. But what confuses me is how my friends tried over 1-3 months with dream journals whereas I did it in a day without even one dream journal. Is this possible? and I still have questions about the difference between PS and WILD. And now I have another question, (sorry i'm a very curious person) what is your dream eyes? I'm wondering if I opened them while i was in PS, I was basically still wandering around in my head and then all of a sudden my eyes opened up by themselves, my contacts felt less physical to me and my body was still numb. When I got out of PS like 10 minutes later it felt a lot different in my eyes like a more physical feeling. Thanks, and could I have been able to slip out of my body when i opened my eyes?

I don't know about OBE's but maybe go ask/post in the Beyond Dreaming Segment.

The reason why it took one guy months to get to the stage where you got is because it's different for everyone. There are some people who've had zillions of LDs but they haven't WILD'd...and vice versa. Another reason why there are various induction techniques. What may work for you, may not work for me and so on. Just remember...it's not about how fast do a certain technique...it's all about getting good at it, and then trying to help others along the way.

As for the "dream eyes" thing...anytime you're in a dream...epically lucid ones, you can open and close you're eyes...but they're dream eyes....if you felt something weird upon going to sleep...it was probably hypnagogic imagery...if it was something weird after waking up going on with your eyes, it was probably hypnopompic imagery.

Thanks helps me understand it a lot more. Also, with those dream eyes if you open them while your body is numb or asleep does that mean your basically sleeping with your eyes open?

      _______________________________________________
I tried another SP and it failed after I got numb in the middle section of my body. I opened my eyes and just like that the whole thing collapsed and then I was actually tired so i just went to sleep
      _______________________________________________
      3rd attempt

I used the same process as the first step and this time, I felt a huge increase of the numbness.
      WARNING SOME INNAPROPRIATE LANGUAGE

So basically after the normal everything I was numb on my legs to my thighs my hands to my wrists wrists. But this time it grew a lot more... Starting from those numbness spots I felt my pelvis part get very numb and started spreading soon my whole upperbody next to my neck was numb. And I went out of it when I just got freaked out because of the music I was listening to, Bional beats. I read up that not everyone has to have a hypnotic illusion to go lucid or for the SP to be an SP but could that being scared factor be my Hypnotic Illusion?

What is the difference between the first and the third attempt?

if you're opening your eyes while you're still asleep....you could be having a false awakening.

keep in mind that everyone doesn't experience SP when they try to WILD....a lot of people skip that step. the next time you get extra numb....try to relax and think of a scene that's easy to picture....you may end up there.

Tried doing that, I first tried to think of a memory 6 months ago, but i thought to myself that if I wanted the dream to come true then I would need a better picture of the whole thing with more details, and a 6 month memory would not be very clear for me to remember, so I tried thinking hard about a memory a week before. It still did not work. Do you have to have like a lot of detail or can you just imagine some scene and imagine your in there and all?

once SP hits....I start thinking of where I want to start the dream....Normally i'll end up in my room...but it just helps me stay relaxed during SP, so I don't fight it and wake up.

alright, is this a sign of a hypnotic illusion?

sounds like SP to me. HI is when you're seeing crap, but you're not asleep....and you're going through SP, or you've woken up after a dream, and you see things.

SP is crazy though....sometimes you'll feel things....sometimes you'll see things....and sometimes you'll feell things, and sometimes, you'll have a little of everything....but HI goes on when you're awake...after SP or a dream or whatever. Like you'll wake up and see crazy shit on the wall or something. I could be wrong though....if I am...someone correct me so I can shut up. *coughs* shift.

I think I know how HI feels but I don't think I experienced one haha. Is it like after hanging on something having all your blood go to your head and then flipping yourself around? You feel really wobbly and your vision dims out and figures/patterns swirl around?

Either way, thanks i'll try your technique to make SP into a LD tonight!
