Two LDs and very strong echo

Just now, I think I may have had about 10 seconds of lucidity while attempting a WILD. One of the more memorable events is the strong echo after waking. To explain fully; Last night I prepared for a WILD by reading a few chapters out of a book around 1AM to tire myself. Once I became very tired, I turned off all of the lights and sat in a meditative position.

I wasn't able to get very far so I decided to lay flat and continue. Throughout the entire night my body slowly went into the sleep state while I stayed fully conscious. All of my muscles shutdown and froze up, my breath was small and I even started to snore a little!

Finally I started to see geometric shapes which were barley visible in the blackness. I realized that I could manipulate the movements of images and shapes with my imagination and they would react. Although these images were still very dark and faint, some images began to appear randomly, like a tree or a ship.

The sun came up and I had not yet actually went into a full dream state as I still was aware of the outside world. Suddenly I remember snapping into a few hours later and waking up, so I guess I finally drifted off and I remember everything having a strong echo sound. It lasted about 5 seconds or so.

I had a very short fully visual LD this afternoon with the same echo so that's twice in one day. Strangely in two dimensions this time o.O It was like I was doing some computer programming and I could change the size of the 2D images and stretch my vision. As the dream faded, I heard the echo.

Has anyone else recognized this echo after waking? And do you also hear it entering the dream state during a WILD?

Wow, I just reread your message and it blew my mind. When I was young, I used to have this reoccuring nightmare that I am still yet to figure out. I haven't had it in a long time (at least 10+ years) and I always thought it was some sort of night terror. I had completely forgot about it until I read this. I would remember waking up and everything around me was extremely loud and the noises drug out similar to an echo. I can remember feeling a sense of fear that something terrible was going to happen or was happening, but I didn't know what. My mom said I would talk about flashing lights, so she thought it was me playing video games for prolonged periods of time just before bed. Now I may be biased (because she would limit my playing time), but I don't think that was the cause. I'm not sure if this is the same thing you are talking about, but I would swear I was awake. It would go away after a while, so maybe only part of my mind was fully awake, or maybe I was just in an FA. My mom however remembers it, so I don't think it was an FA. Wow, I can't believe I had forgot about those nightmares.

Yes, it is very strange. I've even heard music in my dreams that faded after waking. And another thing that happens along side for me is a whitish gold aura that does the same. I almost trip over things as my eyes slowly adjust to normal. My guess is that all of these sense are switched off and if they are off for so long, they have to rev themselves back up. Similar to an old television perhaps
