Hey all, newbie here! Just a little about myself.

Hey guys, I've known about lucid dreaming for a while but I've finally decided to put effort towards trying to learn it. I'm a 19 year old student at the University of Texas. What drew me to lucid dreaming was the idea of regaining that lost one third of my life and actually being able to look forward to going to bed as if it were just the next adventure of the day.

My dreaming history? I tend to have periods of my life where I'll dream a LOT... like every time I go to bed... but most of the time I don't dream at all, or it's around once every few weeks or so. I've had about three lucid dreams in my entire life that I can remember.

Lately I've been trying to develop my dream recall and it hasn't been working out too well (hasn't worked at all but I just started 3 days ago). What tends to happen with me is weird.. I'll wake up but only like semi-conscious and I'll be thinking about all this random crap like what I have to do that day, etc, and once I'm fully conscious (eyes open and all) I'll have all that stuff I was thinking about on my head instead of memories of the dream. I'm pretty confused as I haven't read anything about how to deal with this but I guess I'll just keep trying. If anyone had some tips that'd be great though.

Anyways, I'll be around this site posting a lot... looking forward to being part of this community!

sweet! welcome to dreamviews! Thats good to see you have had lucid experiences before. also, do you have a dream journal? i guarantee that the majority of DV will recommend this to you if you have trouble with recall. if not, you should be on your way! if you need any help be sure to have a look at the tutorials if you haven't already. good luck and i hope to see you soon!
