      Newbie here.

I'm Rul. Currently 16 years old.

Lucid dreams have interested me in the last year or so.
I've realized I've had quite a few, not knowing what the actual word for what it was called.

In many of my dreams I can think, understand, and am fully aware of what I'm doing.

Lately, though, I've been wanting to get more into my dreams. I've been having one reoccurring dream I will get every couple of months or so. It's been going on for years, since I was an elementary schooler, at least. It feels like it will last a good 20 minutes or so, but I will wake up right when I'm supposed to understand something that I know is important. I would like to understand, or are there any tips to make my dreams last longer?

Hey Rul, welcome to DV Cool to hear that you've had a few in the past, this ought to give you a jump start in actively inducing lucid dreams.

As far as the recurring dream, you can think about it and turn elements of it into dreamsigns, so that you can become lucid next time it happens and use a lucid and logical mind to try to understand it. The best way to go about this is to just read all of the tutorials, figure out the types of lucid dreams you've been having, and start actively pursuing them

As far as making dreams longer, you can learn to stabilize your lucidity and the dream itself. Or, if you DO end up waking up from a lucid dream, you can learn to re-enter it by using the DEILD technique.

Anyway, if you have any questions or want more specific info, ask away

Looks like Shift already gave you some great links. If you have any questions, feel free to post them or send me a PM.

Beyond all the standard tips, my best advice is to just dream more! Give your dreams the attention they deserve, write them down, tell yourself you want more. Hopefully they will become longer and more vivid as you practice and get in the habit.
