      Sleep Paralysis?

Hi guys. Been trying to WILD for some time now, I just have a quick question.

When I try to go into SP, I feel a weird sensation in my gut that kind of alerts my mind, thus waking me up. It's like being in a long roller coaster loop, that kind of feeling. It's like my sense of balance is disrupted.

*note: i am usually high (on marijuana when I go to sleep, but it also happens when I'm almost back to complete soberness.

Is that what you're supposed to be feeling when you're going into SP?

A falling sensation is a common hypnagogic hallucination. Sometimes your body will jerk in response, this is called a hypnic jerk (although it doesn't necessarily happen as a result of the falling feeling), if you look that up you'll find some more info on it.

Sleep paralysis, strictly, is the paralysis of your body, and there are a huge spread of hallucinations that can accompany it. Strange bodily feelings like sinking, floating, shrinking, etc. very frequently accompany SP. If you're finding yourself more paralyzed and getting this, it sounds more like SP, but if you're kind of dozing off and get the feeling, without really getting the actual paralysis, then it sounds more like a hypnic jerk (+ or - the jerk I guess )

Maybe you can use that as an aid to help you get to that state easier. Imagine the feeling, and try to induce it. Maybe imagine you are on a rolleroaster or an airplane or something.

When you are feeling it while falling asleep, try to make it more vivid. Give into the feeling, and encourage it. It will probably help you fall further into the trance.
