      My experience

Alright, so I am interested in what other people think of this. Usually I set my phone as an alarm to wake me up in the morning. I usually set it an hour early because I'm absolutely horrible at getting out of bed.

What usually happens it the alarm will go off, and I'll put it on snooze. It'll usually go off again every 10m for about an hour or more. It has become almost a habit now to just wake up grab it and snooze. Most times I'll even keep the phone in my hand and fall right back asleep.

Well, whenever I do this, I can usually remember about 3-5 dreams when I finally get up. Also, I'd say about 80% of the time after I hit snooze on the alarm I can go right back into the dream I was having. It almost feels like I have control of continuing my dream, but 95% of the time, it just feels like watching a really interesting movie that I'm in. I usually don't have any control over it.

Any ideas on how I might be able identify that it's a dream and actually take control of it while I'm in it?

There different things you can do.

"This variation of WILD is extremely abbreviated and takes advantage of the still dreaming mind that occurs immediately after waking up. It's recommended for those who are skilled at immediately recognizing that they've woken up. It's also proved extremely useful for lengthening lucid dreams by allowing yourself to wake up and reenter it."

I a newbie but seem like a DEILD (Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream)

There a sticky on top of this board fill with techniques called "Lucid Dream Induction Techniques" and each technique have a link for more details. (I just gave the DEILD.)

Seem like you already know how to do it but it won't hurt to read about it.
Noticed things in my lucid dreams: Not scare of death (kinda forgotten Freddy special power of killing in dreams, opps?) Huge ego which cause me to summon monsters, most DC are useless and don't even speak.
