      Born with realization

For some reason I was born with this ability to realize I am dreaming. I love it. It is so much fun and so relaxing. I have only ever had 1 nightmare. It was a rocurring one, but after remembering I you can realize you are dreaming I confronted the person chasing me. I have never had a bad dream again.
I am very close to my Uncle and is one of the reasons I believe I share in this fantastic ability that some find hard to come by. He is my exact opposite. I am clean of drugs and very dedicated republican with christian veiws. He is a heavy drug user (tries to quite but seems to fail every time) a democrate and does not fully follow christian views. We comonly butt heads but we are never against each other for long. We have even had "shared dreams"
The dream most common for us is this. (from my pov) I am in a house similar to mine. There are other boys with me. We all have guns and are intent on keeping the enemy from taking the house. There is a screen door where there shouldn't be, and this is when I realize I am dreaming. We take up defensive positions as the enemy (we are all 8-13 year old boys for some reason) comes crashing threw the door. A battle is started. I take up the front and kill many of them. We soon engage in close combat. Some still have guns some fight with fists. I come along a opposing boy hiding afraid to fight. I go to shoot him and them something comes over me. I feel I must help him. I lead him out of the main room into a bedroom and talk to him. He is a red head boy a little younger than me. I tell him to hid in the closet and that I would protect him. I then leave and help my fellow boy soldiers. After such I return and take him to a safe location far away where he can find a new safe life.
My Uncle tells the story the same exept with some minor differences such as what happens befor they attack, why he hides, and what happens while he hides in the closet. We didn't even know we had the same dream untill we compared our Dream logs (dream journals I call them logs). He describes me to a T and I the same.

I tell this because I would like to find a link between people such as ourselfs. If anyone else has a similar occurance with "same dreams" please describe them here. Along with the relationship between you and the person you shared it with.

Dreams are built up by the things you see and do during the day. You and your uncle both saw similar things and built up the same dream.
      I'd say coincidence.

I wasn't born with the ability to realize I'm dreaming. I was however able to figure it out. When a was little I had a few nightmares where I realized I was dreaming and ejected myself from the dream.

I'd say not a coincidence. People's subconscious minds can communicate back and fourth as well.

... And I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy right now.

      I think its all nonsense.

EDIT - If it was at all possible, everyone would be doing it by now.
I have tried to do crap like this, and guess what! It didn't work.

So....I think you're asking if we believe it's possible to be a natural lucid dreamer, in which case I would say yes, totally possible.

But it also seems like you might be asking if we believe in shared dreaming, in which case I would say stop with your nonsense.

Yes, it's more than possible to be born with the ability to lucid dream. You guys that do are lucky--most of us have to work for it.

And by the way, it's nice to see another Ohioan on the board. Welcome.
