      Noob Advice

      Hi everyone I'm Jimmz
Let me first start of by saying this seems to be a great site and community for lucid dreaming.
I found out about lucid dreaming two weeks. Beofre i came to this site I never even thought something like this would could be possible. I decided to give lucid dreaming a try.
Problem for me was i had no dream recall ability. Maybe i would remember one a month! So i started a Dream Journal. The first week was poor. In 7 days I could only recall two dreams and was worried this was beyond me.
Something changed in the second week though and from being unable to remember anything i found i could remember one or two dreams every night.
Last night i had a DILD. It was amazing.Problem for me was it only lasted for two or three minutes.
Can you guys help and tell me why it felt so short? Did I do something wrong. My opinion is that i could too excited and that probably caused me to wake.
      Thanks for the help

first off, welcome, and well done on your first LD.

3 minutes isnt too short. and especially for a first LD. my first lasted about 30 seconds. you are always better second time round.
if you feel you woke up too early, it was probably because you got over-exited. next time try and keep calm, but without forgetting that you are dreaming.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

First timers' usually have short lucid dreams. My first lucid only lasted a second, then I woke up

Yeah, being overly excited and sometimes cause a dream to end. Rubbing your hands together usually causes a dream to become more vivid, and it might even make it last longer.

Keep up the Dream Journal, and if you have any other questions, don't be afraid to ask!

Your brain got confused because it didn't know what to make of your new-found altered state of consciousness. That passes as you gain more experience.
