Why do we dream all of the other absurd things that we dream?

As long as your dreams don't reflect your waking behavior, I wouldn't worry about it. So you had a dream about kissing someone. It sounds like you're worried about not being true to your boyfriend, but luckily reality is not like dreams, and you'll be the one at the end of the day to decide if you ever do something like this.

I dont believe our sexual dreams really convey much about our subconsious sexual desires.
Ive had sex dreams where Ive had sex with objects, people i would NEVER have sex with (family) and even friends who i would never consider having sex with. (Please not by sex i mean anything sexual).

If they do convey our subconscious thoughts then I am one ****'ed up person, and i dont believe i am.

Our dreams serve as insights to our minds sometimes, but we must also realise that sometimes they can play on thoughts that might inhabit our subconscious.

Just elaborating on what Shift mentioned, i also believe that if you are subconsciously worrying about cheating on your boyfriend (or vice versa), your dreams may reflect so. They do not neccesarily mean you want to cheat.

Enjoy your dreams for what they are
