Hello everyone!

My name is Axel and I'm from Sweden. Ever since I was a little kid I've been very interested in dreams and how to control them. I first heard about lucid dreaming a few days ago I immidietely started writing a dream journal. I've written down my dreams for 3 days now and I remember around 2-3 dreams every night. I'm can't put words into how excited I am about lucid dreaming and this community, and I hope to learn a lot from you guys!

Question: When I wake up I immediately write down what I can remember of my dream. Is this the best way to do it or is there a more efficient tecnique for recalling the dreams?

Hey Axel, welcome to Dream Views! =)

For recalling dreams, it helps to lie completely still with your eyes closed right after waking up. Go over the dream(s) you just had in your mind, then write them down when you know you've recalled them as best you can. You also might want to try to remember if you had any other dreams.

That's what I've heard, anyway. Personally I have a tendency to fall back asleep for forget what the dream was about if I don't write it down soon enough. You can also try writing with your eyes closed; if you're waking up in the middle of the night, it probably won't be very light anyways. Remember that light kills recall.

WBTB is also useful for dream recall as well as for inducing lucids.

Axel. I agree with what Hidden said about recalling dreams. It is best to review the dreams for a few seconds in your mind with your eyes closed, but you run the risk of falling asleep. I've been late for work a few times because of this.

RB: I think I've been late for school that way too. I have to say, most of the time I'd rather be asleep than going to school anyway.

I graduated one month ago so now I have plenty of time to sleep and improve my LD tecniques.

Graduated from college? Or high school? My brother graduated from high school this year, so now he starts school late, ends early, and can take afternoon classes if he wants. Sounds like he'll have plenty of time for dreaming. I'm jealous.

Well In Sweden we have a slightly different school system. I graduated from the gymnasium which is like a part time highschool, part time college. I'm currently in the states, but when I get back to Sweden in a month I'll probably just stay there for a week or two and then repack my suitcase and travel somewhere else. I'll then do a media program at the university in spring. Ah, life is good right now
