      Noobie question!! DX Noo!!!

I was practicing WILD during the day today in my room on my bed facing the window where light was coming in...I have a computer right next to it. And as I was lying there with my eyes closed I realized I was seeing my room, but my eyes weren't open. (I must be dreaming) as soon as I realized this, an IM window opened up on my computer, and with my mind I typed in the word "hi" and then enter. As soon as I did that, my computer screen turned hay wire and a bunch of new windows started popping open. as this was happening my body started tingling starting from my feet upwards - I could even feel the wax in my ears pop as it reached my head. as soon as this happened I woke up. Was this me feeling sleep paralysis begin? It happened again later and I woke up again. I seem to freak myself out of it because my heart is always beating fast after I wake up. What's up with this?

I know one thing for sure, it sounds like you were beginning SP.. you may even had been experiencing HI as you described with your computer--but don't quote me on that..

I have had many experiences where I am just laying in bed and all of a sudden it seems like I am floating up to something in my room.. and the light would be on as I am floating, but in reality, my light was off...

I'm sorry, HI? Sorry, new to this. Also, is there any technique I could use to keep myself from freaking out during the beginning of sleep paralysis?

Something like this happened to me once too. I was lying back in a chair with my eyes closed, and suddenly I could see again and I sat up. Then as soon as I realized what was happening I went back to having my eyes closed. Very strange.

HI=Hypnagogic Imagery. Visual hallucinations that happen during sleep paralysis.
HH=Hypnagogic Hallucinations. Like HI, but it also includes sound, vibrations, etc.

I don't think there's an anti-freak-out technique for SP. Just remind yourself that none of it can hurt you because it's all in your mind. Think of it as an adventure and enjoy the ride. =) And if that doesn't work, after you get to SP enough times you'll get used to the feeling and naturally stop being afraid of it.
