      Getting rid of placebos?

In my dreams, I tend to think something like "alright, now I'm going to try to move through that wall", and then I can't do it. My problem is that I think "what if it doesn't work?" and the "don't be stupid, of course it'll work. It's YOUR dream, genius." logic doesn't work because I'm still in dream logic (this is one of the reasons I contend it's not a lucid dream, my mind still feels very "foggy" in these dreams), and because it "feels" real.

How do I get around this?

by practicing. Both in dreams and in real life. Just as astronaughts train in swimming pools before space missions, oneironaughts should also train beore dreams. Before or between sleep, stand up in your room, look around, "simulate" that you've just realized you are dreaming, what emotions go through your mind? try to control them, so that instead of the "ZOMG I'm dreaming" you are calm and can do dream goals, then walk up to a wall, imagine you can do it, build up your confidence levels - run through this several times till you are satisfied with your emotional responses. be persistent both while awake and while in LD's!
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!

Are lucid dreams THIS realistic? Because I'm finding it very hard to imagine I'm dreaming.

Edit: I think I got it.. it's more of a tentative, heart-racing, "oh man, if this works, it's going to kick-" feeling than a euphoric wave (I find it hard to just be happy)
