Hi everyone, I have some questions

Hey everyone! I just joined this incredible website right now. The reason I found out about this site is really curiosity. So let me begin with my question.

Every night I use my iPod Touch as my alarm I always set up two alarms one for 7:05 and one for 7:25 I do this incase the first one will not wake me but it always does. Recently I have got into the habit of waking up too both but only getting up on the second and normally I will have some sort of dream that I only remember after I wake up after 7:25. Today I had a weird dream which I remembered rather clearly but forgot about most of it by the time I found this site and found out too right it down in a dream Journal.

So anyways today when I woke up as always I have sort of a weird feeling and now that I came too this site it sort of feels like I knew I was dreaming but only for a second. But I am not sure if that is me actually attaining Lucidity or me just actually being awake. And since I jsut came too this site and it has been well over 2 hours since then I cannot determine it. Also this is not the first time this has happened.

Also sometimes I feel as I just feel rapidly and I got a sort of shocking feeling this hasn't happened in a few months though but whenever I do it is sort of scary and weird and I don't remember anything happen other then I was trying too fall asleep and when I check the time it is only a few minutes latter then when I started falling asleep.

So really me question for all you experts is, do you think I was actually attaining Lucidity or just really being awake and not realizing it?

      Thanks in advanced,

      Kevin

It seems like a lot of people experience a flash of lucidity right as they are waking up. Sometimes, the shock of becoming lucid will be enough to instantly wake you up. As long as you realized it was a dream, you were lucid

Slipping in and out of dreams, like that, gives you some good opportunities to realize you are dreaming. When I am dozing in and out of sleep on a lazy morning, I often find I get a hazy sort of dual awareness. I will be having a vivid dream, but also be aware of myself sleeping in bed.

I'm in a similar position: I set my alarm for 6:30, and my dad yells at me to wake up at 7:00. I usually turn off my alarm and go back to sleep, but I have strange dreams. Occasionally they are lucid, but they are never very stable. I've tried controlling them, but I wake up immediately when I do. I'm usually aware that I'm dreaming, but I just let them play out. Also, I rarely have a body in these dreams. I'm usually a 3rd person observer. I can often also feel everything in the dream. I'm the table that the people, who are also me, are playing cards (me) on. Just try to enjoy them, they can often be entertaining. I remember numerous times I've awoken from these dreams laughing.

Maybe we should rename the "snooze button" on alarm clocks. Start calling it the "lucid button."
